Here's the thing, even if she ditched HBO and signed up to PBC there's still no guarantee Stevenson would fight Kovalev, the likes of Thurman still can't get the PBC fights he wants.

We know Beterbiev would fight Kovalev but Beterbiev is high risk low reward right now. I don't know who the other name is you're thinking of.

For all the talk of Stevenson, he's not a draw (5,000 tickets, 294k Sho), a Pascal rematch is probably more lucrative for Kovalev.

The comment was about why Duva wouldn't leave HBO for PBC for 3 fights in response to AgainstTheRopes suggesting aligning with Haymon over a longer term would be the right move for Main Events. Outside of the Stevenson fight they don't really have any big draws for Kovalev, Beterbiev and Eleider Alvarez are not there yet.

I hope Kovalev v Stevenson is made 120%, it should have been done.

Well in this article Yvon Michel is on record saying he is willing to do it.

This is not about Adonis not wanting.the fight, because he does especially after seeing a Kovalev get stunned by a Slight.above.average power puncher in Pascal. Adonis.has the best one punch power in boxing and an 82 inch reach he isnt scared. This is about. Knowing Al Haymon outbidding Duva for the rights which he will. About Him putting the fight on Showtime or PBC, and weakening HBO negotiation with Kovalev.why sign him to big money when the biggest money fight wont be on their network??? Good to read. SO there should be no reason the fight doesn't happen. Kov is now a top 10 p4p fighter and Stevenson (and Kov) will get the money they both wanted (I would argue deserve) for a fight of this magnitude.

It appears it will happen about 16 months after it was 1st discussed. For those who are complaining, that's roughly the same time span between Hearns winning the WBA ww title and his fight with Leonard.

I really want to see what happens if Stevenson wins.

More to the point he actually has a shot at winning.

Maybe Haymon has long term plans to sacrifice him to a younger guy though. Or maybe his strategy means all rivals have to be denied any sort of success, and Kovalev taking out Stevenson would certainly be that.

Stevenson certainly has a shot. When you chase a man into a corner and he turns round and comes out fighting, that's when he's at his most dangerous.

Dont be ridiculous if Stevenson welcomed it that fight would have happen ages ago. Now that they are cornered what else they can do. If Stevenson vacates with his already ruined reputation his carrier is finished. Its obvious what they are hoping to scare Duva with Als money so that she and HBO somehow backs away from the bidding. Pathetic. Still its interesting to see who is winning the bid.

This now makes sense to me. Haymon and Michel know that HBO won't allow the fight to happen on any other network so Haymon will make a ridiculously high bid.

WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson (25-1, 21KOs) is not overlooking his upcoming opponent, Sakio Bika (32-6-3, 21KOs), but a much bigger fight is hanging over his head.

Stevenson faces Bika on Saturday at the Pepsi Coliseum in Quebec City, Canada. The fight will headline the debut edition of "Premier Boxing Champions (PBC)" on CBS.

Last December at the World Boxing Council's annual convention in Las Vegas, the sanctioning body made a very unusual ruling - by approving a request by Main Events CEO, Kathy Duva, to have Sergey Kovalev (27-0-1, 24KOs) become the mandatory challenger to Stevenson's title. The approval was unusual because Kovalev is the world champion of three rival sanctioning bodies, the IBF/WBA/WBO.
