    Zab talking major sense.

I compare what he said to football.

Some Champions are made through free agency. Freddie acquired his great champions as if it were free agency. Like the Patriots. They Started with the Tuck Rule and built through free agency.

But the great champions are built through the Draft. Like the Steelers and the Seahawks team that beat the Denver donkeys. That defense was built through the draft. Roger and Floyd Sr Built this champion (Floyd), Angel Garcia built a champion(Danny Garcia), Mike Stafford built a champion (Broner), Mark Breland built a champion (Wilder), Virgil Hunter built a champion (Ward), Anatoly Lomachenko built a Champion (Vasyl Lomachenko), Angelo Dundee Built the Greatest (Ali and more), Emmanuel Steward Built a Champion (Hearns), Cus D'Amato Built a champion(Tyson and Patterson), And yes, Yoel Judah Built a Champion(Judah)

Roach acquired Pacquiao, Cotto, and everyone else as if they were free agents.

I learnt that a trainer should only be in the hall of fame if they take a fighter from scratch. Nothing else counts apparently. Zab's reasoning skills haven't been this sharp since he tried to reason with Jay Nady that he wasn't concussed.

Trainers are like children....they should be seen and not heard.

Roach should STFU with the trash talk. He's not getting in the ring with the guy he's badmouthing.

Worst offender is Angel Garcia. But he is certified loco.

They are already established. I get what he did with Pacquiao. He improved him and I do see the difference, but Pacquiao still tends to make basic mistakes. Simple things like keeping his right hand by his chin when he throws the left straight. That's where discipline comes in. Freddie improves fighters. And the part that I've bolded, the training you receive from childhood carries over into the pros. As I've said before, discipline is the hardest thing to teach and if you can teach discipline at a young age, then more than likely, you will have a fighter like Floyd who doesn't drink or smoke and keeps his body in shape in between fights.
Manny makes "fundamental mistakes" sure but so does every great fighter (including Floyd who leaves his chin in the air after throwing his overhand right) because when you stick to the "fundamentals" you end up being just an average fighter.

Any fighter can be thought to be discipline and it doesn't matter what age you get them at. In fact it's much more difficult to discipline a fighter once they get older compared to when their younger. The most important thing is getting the best out of you fighter and Roach has done that with some many fighters.

Just because you luck up and great some super talented kid doesn't make you a good trainer it just mean you were the closest gym.

              Judah straight ethered Roach

he didn't bad mouth him, just stated facts

I cant think of one top fighter he didn't get that wasn't already a former champion or a contender....its just the truth and cant be disputed

Yoel Judah trained him from the ground up, Nacho Beristein trained several great fighters from scratch, angel Garcia got Danny, SR got Floyd.

IMO roach is one of the best trainers but most of his accolades are undeserved....he wins fighter of the year even when his best fighters are taking losses.

Zab is just mad that when it's all said and done he'll be nothing more than a mere footnote in the history of the sport while Roach will be considered one of the greatest trainers of all time.

And Judah's career is barely anything to brag about. You were a 5 times champion in an era where there is 4 belts per division. I'm pretty sure Freddie could have won a few championships too if you could fight 13-5-2 fighters for a championship.

Judah held the wbo and ibf(2x) and was also undisputed welterweight champion

Cory Spinks was no scrub, nor was Terron Millet, Junior Witter, Lucas Matthyssee, or Micky Ward

Roach would have lost to all of Judah's decent competition

Roach was getting beat up by journeymen and club fighters

His connections to Eddie Futch helped Roach get a lot of clients but Judah was right.....name one fighter that wasn't already a champion or contender before they got to Roach....he is great but overrated because of his Parkinson's condition....**** the feel good story when you talk trash and was a C-class fighter criticizing a former world champion

No he couldn't have and I'm pretty sure you don't know anything about Freddie Roach as a boxer.

roach would have been lucky to crack the top ten in Judah's era from 126-135....guys like Barrera, Morales, Mayweather, Jose Luis Castillo, Roach wouldn't be able to get by the fringe guys like Angel Manfredy, Robbie Peden, Mike Katsidis
