Again, no excuse for Toney but to pretend like it was all Roy Jones is fanboyism 2.0.

Certainly, whenever Roy Jones had trouble or lost, people love to point out what was wrong with him (i.e. dropping back down to 175 for Tarver).

So in conclusion: Roy Jones DOMINATING Toney isn't making a good case for RJJ.
Losing fat at 25-26 years of age is quite different from losing all muscle at 35-36 years of age.

If he doesn't treat Kovalev like a real threat and isn't mentally up for it like it's the biggest fight of his career, he can lose and lose badly. Kovalev definitely wouldn't be part of RJJ's youtube highlight reel where he makes him look silly like all the others.
Didn't Kovalev have trouble beating Darnell Boone in their first fight and was knocked down by Blake Caparello as recent as 2014? Also Hopkins at 50 years old lasted the distance with Kovalev. Granted he got beat up, but he lasted 12 when people said he'd get killed. I would like to think a prime Roy Jones punches harder than Caparello, would do more than just last 12 like a 50 year old Hopkins did, and give Kovalev more trouble than Darnell Boone did.

With that said, I like Kovalev, he's turned into a pretty good fighter. He will be hard to beat and Stevenson better bring his A+ game if he wants to even last 12 rounds with Kovalev, because he was knocked down by Fonfora. That doesn't look too good for him.

Prime Jones doesn't even lose 30 seconds of the fight, you kidding me this guy is a bum.

It's not even worth debating again like Ali Vs Klitschko. Tyson is the one who is overrated based on his thin 85-89 resume of opponents.

I was being respectful. Would BEAT any fighter in history be better? We can debate specific names but it's all academic.

P.S. You sure picked the worst example thinking you had something. Choosing a fighter who has had the most dominant decade in boxing, and one of the most skilled boxers ever. A few clinch filled fights here and there doesn't disqualify that. The Povetkin fight is not the norm.
I'm going to do a little test with you. See if you are judging boxers based on actual eye test or judging them based on 'other' things.

Prime Lewis vs Prime Wlad who wins?
          Prime Ali vs Prime Vitali
          Prime Spinks vs Kovalev
          Prime Bowe vs Prime Povetkin

Roy was just too fast for Kovalev. Easy UD for Roy. Changed my mind.

It's odd how most people look upon Roy Jones Jr. as some type of boxing god. I mean people literally feel no one in history would be able to beat him in his prime.

Now I couldn't tell you who would win between Kovalev and Jones because I think their two very talented fighters but I will say that it won't be an easy win for either man.

This is a joke. Kovalev is nowhere near Roy Jones calibur. If Hopkins could play keep away all night at 50 years old, Roy Jones in his prime would not have a problem.
