I don't think he's strong enough to fend off maidana or take away his inside game...maidana is great at discouraging fighters to clinch he just keeps punching wherever he can

there is no way I can see brook turning this into an ugly fight like he did with porter, maidana won't let him...maidana is one of the strongest willed fighters of this generation...brook has yet to face anyone of the caliber maidana's fought and it will tell if they fight soon

maidana would beat him on awkwardness and experience at this point...if porter manages to improve himself with his father I'd say he'd have the edge over maidana in 6-12 months...his last fight wasn't telling at all as the guy was a VERY late replacement

that being said I don't think porter was ready to be IBF champ when he was...neither was Alexander (ever) for that matter
I don't know about better chin and what not since Porter has yet to face a real puncher. But to me Porter reminds me of exactly Alexander, good to compete at the top, but never really excelling.

you might be right about his chin...however don't forget maidana was dropped by josesito and hurt by alexander who has no power at all at 147

porter and alexander are very different fighters IMHO...porter is faster, more unpredictable and a smarter fighter...he doesn't have many tricks in his arsenal which i believe is due to inexperience mostly

alexander was never that great...at 140 he beat some faded fighters who still had some buzz but he caught them at the right time

the thing about porter is I see him improving, though he's inconsistent...if he gets more disciplined or gets another trainer to teach him some new tricks he'd be force, as he's physically gifted

Maidana would trouble Brook, but Brook would also trouble Maidana.

I'd expect a very close fight.

Brook would rather fight Saldivas, Senchenko's and other C level opposition until he gets the Khan jackpot

The Maidana that ***ed up Broner or the one against Mayweather in the first fight would have beaten Brook.

Surprised at how open he is about it. He expects Maidana to come back but he doesn't think Maidana has the hunger or discipline anymore. He says he's changed in recent years, especially since his kid was born.
He was close to retiring after Alexander. Got a lucky break with Garcia and beating Broner then getting the 2 Floyd fights.

I think he was looking for a final cashout after the Alexander fights and got it.

                      ...is a junior middleweight.

There's a skill and size disparity between Brook and Maidana which imo would be too much for the latter to bridge, I could even see Maidana being stopped from R.10-12.
