No. I'm saying if you aren't the champion and win the title, you get a voluntary then a mandatory. This is Cotto's situation, he wasn't the champion already.

And if he fights Heiland or K9 and loses, Heiland (or K9) was not the champion going in but will still have to face GGG in his first defense. No voluntary will be available to the winner of the fight, no matter who it is.

Sucks to be them then but like I said it's about money, not integrity. Welcome to boxing.

That first link proves to you who left the table and in typical Canelo fan talk they go with the made up scenario in their heads and not the actual scenario in front of them. Oscar "felt" Cotto had other plans, he like each of you posting "thought" something and took it as fact. The fact is, Cotto didn't get a shot at Floyd and Oscar and Canelo were wrong. So THEY stopped talking, not Cotto. THEY backed off. Not Cotto and your links confirm that... So, because Oscar flinched, it makes it Cotto's fault?

Yes, Cotto has a voluntary, I'm not arguing that. Get back to me when he announces that he'll fight GGG. I'll get back to you after he's either stripped or vacates the MW title, because no way is he going to fight GGG!

In this article, ODH stated that team Cotto turned down Canelo's offer and then Canelo pulled out of the negotiations. In the previous link I provided, Oscar is speculating as to why Cotto turned down the deal, not why Canelo pulled out. And I already said that I don't blame Cotto for not agreeing to the terms.

The presumed May 2 showdown between middleweight champion Miguel Cotto and former junior middleweight titlist Canelo Alvarez, which had been in the works for the past couple of months, is dead.

Now you have to be fair to Cotto. Margacheato was caught with plaster in his wraps in his very next fight against Mosely. Judging from the mess that he made of Cotto's face, it's reasonable to assume he had loaded wraps for their fight too.

I agreed with cotto. The resume of GGG is full of bums.

you are probably a nice guy and not dumb. but I am not a Panamanian and I think Duran was the best and what he did being smaller then cotto will never be matched

so that would mean cotto would beat GGG easily. so why not fight him for a tremendous amount of money? he will not because he is a coward at middleweight
