Ill copy and past from another thread where I had to explain the exact same thing:

Cotto didn't fight in december against ANYBODY because he didn't have enough time to train with freddy roach. Then ODH & Canelo felt that they were going to compete with Floyd with that Cinco De Mayo ppv weekend by using Cotto as their little bargaining chip lets say. Cotto, not being the idiot that some other boxers are by letting themselves get used by a promoter (such as arum), gave the middle finger to BOTH Canelo & ODH. Do you guys honestly think that Cotto cares about Cinco De Mayo weekend? If he was going to fight at that time, why would he "compete" with Floyd as ODH has stated that they'll only move the date of the Cotto-Canelo fight if Floyd fights Pacquiao.... Ok UNDERSTAND. If Floyd fights pacquiao... And if Floyd didn't? Again, do you honestly think that Cotto cares about cinco de mayo weekend or to "compete" in a head to head ppv with floyd, where that situation would NOT maximize his earnings? Canelo got mad cuz he didn't get what he wanted, signed up kirkland and now is fighting kirkland at minute maid f^cking park.

KEY PARTS!!!--- Cotto doesnt care about cinco de mayo weekend. If he fought that weekend, it would be against floyd to try and take that 0. ODH & Canelo only would move the date if floyd-pac happened and if it didn't happen they would "compete" with floyd-??? in a head to head PPV. That WOULD NOT maximize EITHER of their money. Its a ****** business move, that ODH might do.

Sounds to me like Cotto's self esteem is intact and he has very little regard for feigning "humility" aka ******ity. A peasant on the other hand, will sacrifice himself and his money, to be viewed as "humble."

At the end of the day, Cotto is well aware of his worth and will NOT be manipulated via emotion nor politics.

Cotto's world is a real place.

    ONE.

Roberto Duran started at 135 and fought Iran "into a right" Barkley who was a 6'2 light heavy posing as a middleweight and ended up as a heavyweight. Duran fought Hagler who was killing everyone. Duran KO'd a young Davey Moore at JM. Duran had the most courage and the best fighter I ever saw. cotto is a coward and most are compared to Duran

Cotto fought Mosley, Margarito, Manny, Floyd and Sergio Martinez. He's the only fighter in any weight class to do that and he did it BEFORE either of them fought one another in any order. You should really keep your mouth shut, you have no clue what a coward is.

Cotto isn't man enough to wash Duran's sweaty jock straps. Duran would have fought GGG immediately after winning the title. He ran from no one.

Cotto wouldn't quit because Sugar Ray was styling on his ass either.

Cotto would never have gotten in the ring against SRL in the first place. He would have given up in the dressing room.

How they insist on practicing denial is beyond me. Anyone who seriously thinks Cotto is afraid, is kidding themselves. Cotto is just not an idiot who allows himself to be played. If Canelo wants to act macho, walk away mad and fight The Chin, so be it.

Or did you want Cotto to take less money and fight for his legacy? Because he did that when he turned down 10 million for Canelo and took 8 million to become MW champion.
But he hasn't fought Canelo, and probably never will! He and his team waited until the deadline that they all agreed on to make Canelo an offer that was unacceptable. If he really wanted the fight, why not make an offer before the deadline, to leave room for more negotiating?

As for the MW championship, Cotto knew Martinez was losing ground when he saw the Murray fight. I guarantee Cotto didn't want the version of Martinez up to and including the Chavez, JR fight (barring the knock down, which caused his knee injury).

Just admit that Cotto is being careful in not choosing a bonafide, dangerous MW, because he knows he's too small, & will likely lose. It's ok.

Do you not see who Cotto has fought, or do you ignore facts when they make you look like a ****ing dumbass too? You know what, he might be a coward we'll agree with your ****** view. He still has more balls than any fighter this generation considering who and when he fought them.
