  • Hopefully, the fight will gonna burst into a brawl between the "defensive genius Floyd jr." against "the fast and furious Pacman".

And if it turns into a blockbuster hundreds million dollars Fight; then, maybe, just maybe, the result of the fight would be a "CONTROVERSIAL DRAW" eventually, another REMATCH will be in the offing!

    • The only reason DLH lost to Floyd is because of Floyd being the better boxer. It wasn't DLH's stamina or absence of his jab. He just wasn't good enough. Roach is an idiot if he really thinks they won the fist 6 rounds. Just ridiculous.

the BOXING TERM is abandoned his jab.

so you being nitpicky with his wording is ******.

watch more boxing and you'll hear announcers commonly use it.
I believe that the term " took his jab away " is far more accurate.

It likely boils down to whoever is making the comment.

        e.g.

I can imagine Lampley saying this..... " abandoned his jab ".

And someone like Steward saying this..... " took his jab away ".

I think it comes down to a level of understanding.

" Abandoned " sort of insinuates that he lost it, like it slipped out of his pocket unnoticed, or that he decided to stop jabbing and for no apparent reason at all..... it sounds a little clueless, because it is far more accurate to describe exactly why Hoya stopped using his jab.

You said this..... "so you being nitpicky with his wording is ******"..... and yet, the poster who I replied to had INTENTIONALLLY worded it "abandoned" so-as to remove any credit from Mayweather..... like, Oscar just stopped jabbing for someone magical mytical unknown reason.

        Knowledgable fans know better.

Lets resolve this..... tell me why you think Hoya stopped using his jab ?

        • May weather took it away.... Just like he did Judah's, maidana and cottos

Anyone who knows boxing saw it happen by him jabbing with the opponent and counter rights n body shots

Oscar didn't have the stamina to apply your gameplan for 12 rounds and Pacquiao doesn't either. Nor does Manny have the size or strength advantages, not to mention a jab...
I don't believe that Roach is serious and just playing mind games...but if anything, you've got to be kidding for mentioning these...

            • Oscar didn't abandon his jab. The problem with Oscar is that he is left-hand dominant. He doesn't have a solid right hand so he hooks off the jab. Cotto does this as well, too, because they are converted southpaws. The left hand is still their power punch, so it becomes a trade off between landing purely jabs or your power punches. The guy couldn't just jab all night then nothing comes off the right hand. He had to save something to land his most effective punch.

              • Like Roach said, they are looking at a lot of tapes of Floyd.

Roach should check out all the fights where the opponent was able to get to Floyd plus of course, his defensive "look". Especially after Floyd throws his punches. It's all there ......

One thing that they should focus on is countering Floyd. Manny has the speed to connect consistently. If Manny can succeed with that, it would make Floyd very hesitant.

I think there are far too many weaknesses in Paq for this to be anything but a boxing exhibition from Floyd.

For starters anytime Floyd has had the physical advantage he's obliterated to competition. He's bigger, stronger, has a longer reach, and is taller. I dont see how Paq overcomes those physical shortcomings. I dont see him being able to box his way into range to unleash those rapid fire punches. I pray for his soul he's not banking on lunging in recklessly like he has traditionally. I dont see his power as this equalizing factor anymore either. There's no way you could tell me hes bringing more power than Canelo or Maidana brought. (who both also outweighed him by damn near 20+ lbs) And I dont think he gets that left off anyway. I mean Tim Bradley managed to last 24 rounds without getting caught by it. I see Floyd controlling distance early on and Manny getting frustrated because he doesnt have the footwork or boxing acumen to get his offense off. I see Manny tiring like he does in most of his fights (call it leg cramps or whatever) with mayweather taking over late.
Pacquiao has been fighting taller, bigger, stronger opponents. Floyd being bigger doesnt count. Floyd skills do count. Maidana's punching power didnt matter for he was wearing pillow gloves. For this fight Pacquiao will wear Reyes Gloves... And you said Pacquiao has no footwork??? lol! And tires out hahaha!!!

                  • The better boxer will win May 2. I got Pacquiao winning. Mayweather will be too cautious to throw punches. His defense will be his weakness for he will just try to run and not enough punches thrown.
