What is there to make an excuse from, he hasn't been staying inactive on purpose, nothing he has done has been malicious. He was going to fight in December I believe, possibly against Canelo but I think HBO didn't have the budget and I clearly remember saying something about his future in Janurary of this year. Well, he was waiting for Floyd and negotiating with Canelo at the same time, 2 VERY good options for him and they both fell through.

Mayweather went with Manny and Canelo... I'm not getting into it but he has a fight and Cotto just barely got his. During all this Cotto was talking to RocNation about business AFTER and OUTSIDE of boxing, other ways to make money. He's not out making a ****ing album like Oscar and Manny, he got $5 million as a bonus for his troubles during this time. GGG now has a dance partner and I know Cotto wants nothing to do with GGG, but he's stated it's an option and he's obviously going to use it as a final cash out fight if he ever does fight him.

So, he's at fault for the WBC giving him a voluntary which he's now taking. As stated his first two choices for that voluntary were the best fighter in the planet and Canelo, it's not like he pulled a Stevenson, Garcia or Quillin with picking the easiest option first, he just had a string of bad luck with timing. **** happens, just because he's slowed down some in his career after some losses I'm not going to give him **** for defending his title against a guy in his own division.

You can troll any fighter you want and the fan base is not going to agree with you, especially if u are going to be one sided the entire time and avoid being rational.
