WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto (39-4, 32KOs) has yet to finalize his opponent for June 6th, but there are two fighters in the running. A few weeks ago, Cotto signed a three fight promotional agreement with Roc Nation Sports.

He has a list of several possible options and plans to review them with his trainer, Freddie Roach. Cotto did not dispute that Cornelius 'K9' Bundradge was a possibility. As BoxingScene.com reported earlier this week, the IBF 154-pound champion is also being pursued by Top Rank for an HBO date with Timothy Bradley.

Certainly not Poor Taylor. Soliman is better than Heiland but still not very good at this point. MW sucks in general and picking a non ranked opponent is pathetic. How can he defend calling himself the worllds champion?

Nothing if only that volontary was within 90 days after him winning the title and if GGG hadn't been promised a shot at the winner (which I think was the case). As it stands now, he is set to fight a clubfighter as a first defense and that being 12 months after he won the title! Talk about keeping the belt hostage. Shame on him.

Heiland is ranked #1 by the WBC. I don't think you can criticize Cotto on those grounds. Soliman may be better than Heiland but he is not ranked by the WBC and besides neither Heiland nor Soliman bring much to the table financially. The truth of the matter is that none of the current possible opponents really justify Cotto not having fought Golovkin right now. Canelo was justifiable, nothing else is.
