thats the problem, he's shot, its highly unlikely he will get a big payday again, i can see them feeding him to kevin mitchell again tbh.

Its funny not to long ago your usual nationalistic britsh fight fan apologists were on here defending burn's ducking of broner when HBO was looking to make that fight, saying broner brought nothing to the table and ricky burns is the A-side and should dictate this and that. And here we are not to long afterwards ricky burns is broke. Not for nothing god forbid he took the fight with broner and won, he'd be sitting on a pile now, but you know what they say about scared money.

            I have mixed thoughts.

Poor decisions by Burns may have contributed to his current situation.....

No idea, I am not familiar with the events that led to his current situation.

But, I know exactly what I would do when faced with a small fortune in legal fee's..... especially if I felt that they were incurred unfairly.

$400,000..... is over $1,000,000 in my country.

Fakk paying off a lawyers mortgage for him.

            1) hide my shht
            2) file bankruptcy
            3) produce erect middle finger at creditors, whilst borrowing $5 off my brother for a beer

Just a thought..... do you really think that the total worth of Burns assets are $228, as stated in the article ?

What a sad story. Didn't realize Burns lost his comback fight after Crawford; whoever matched him with an undefeated fighter after losing his title is a moron.

Early Hickey should send him a few pounds.

Even if he lost to Broner he'd still be sitting on a pile of money. It was going to be a career high payday for him.

That duck ended up backfiring on Burns.

Eddie Hearn is a complete piece of **** for creating this situation. I hope Burns counter sues him.

The thing about ricky burns is he is too brave to admit he isnt world level any more, he should have kept busy and fought often but didnt want to step down a level.

I hope he gets himself out of this mess because he does live the life of a boxer, clearly he hasn't been focussed mentally since he joined eddie hearn

You would that surely he's made enough in his career to pay that off?

He's been in some big fights.
