Unbelievable that his manager let him get into this situation. Also Matchroom must share the blame for tapping him up whilst still under contract.

If this doesn't get him motivated to win a world title nothing will.

Luckily there are some decent paydays at domestic level. With Crolla, Kevin Mitchell rematch and Campbell eventually.

I don't doubt for one second that this whole scenario was played out well before Eddie Hearn snapped him up.
'Listen mate you're going to get sued big time by Frank, he has a contract so you cannot expect to win there, I'll have an accountant move a few things around for you, all of your assets will need to go under another name and then I want you to go bankrupt before u have a big payday and u wont have to pay fisheyes a thing!!'

If they didn't go through this whole scenario then Burns is one dozey f##ker

Poor advice and management - nothing new here.

I feel for Burns as, by all accounts he is a really nice guy.

He doesn't have the options of an alternative career really, boxing is his best way to make a living.

He is a great fighter to watch, so I hope he can win a few decent paydays.

Warren won't give him any slack - that guy is a shark.

It does seem strange now I think about it.

He would have had to make a series of bad decisions to be bankrupted by this imo.

The other option which i saw on another forum, is that he could have stashed money somewhere out of view and is declaring bankruptcy to avoid paying Warren. Whether Burns is bright enough or has the means to pull it off i dont know

Alex Morrison should have never advised Ricky to abandon his contract with Frank, Eddie Hearn has to take some responsibility as well as he should have had his lawyers look into his contract to make sure everything was above board, so much for Eddie having his fighters interests at heart typical money hungry promoter.

Eddie Hearn is a vile human being. He isn't even fit to shine Frank Warren's shoes, and I'm not big Warren fan... Why wouldn't Warren sue?? Why would he just let people take liberties with his business and not protect that??

Eddie Hearn is a used car salesman with a rich dad, who is basically doing Barney Francis' bidding for Sky. He has been allowed to build a UK monopoly and gives zero ****s about any of his fighters deep down. He has cashed out most of them in the end.

There is no way he has helped Burns stash money and assets away in some Swiss safety deposit boxes, he isn't the wolf of wallstreet.

Ricky Burns is now ****ed, coz Hearn promised him big paydays and dodge legal advice and then couldn't deliver after Burns lost to Beltran, Crawford and then Zlaticanin (which was shocking match making too).

Apparantly there's a Ltd company which was formed back in 2011 under the name of Ricky Burns Promotions.

He's been paying all his purses into that company. So that £224 or however much it is, isnt really how much Ricky has left. He's been tucking his money into a seperate company for about 4 years so Frank cant touch that. He can only lay claim to this 200 odd quid Ricky is showing so I'd say Ricky is not in as much trouble as is made out.
