-HBO wanted two hype-up fights (Stevenson/Fonfora, Kovalev/Agnew) before delivering the fight.
-GYM received a bid from Showtime to air Stevenson/Fonfora (Showtime was running out of fights for Bernard Hopkins)
-GYM went directly to HBO to see if they would match the bid for the fight that they wanted (Stevenson/Fonfora)
-HBO told GYM 'go **** yourselves, we don't bid' and the slander has been spewing ever since.

If HBO wasn't so cheap, the fight would've already happened.

No, Stevenson wanted the Fonfara fight, HBO wanted him to fight Kovalev after they had built the fight with both fighters on the same card in their previous fights. They were willing to agree to approve the Fonfara fight if Stevenson's side agreed to fight Kovalev afterwards. Duva said she had a verbal agreement with GYM, and they were at least close to one, when Stevenson went and signed with Haymon. Haymon came in and blew it up by getting Showtime to overpay for Stevenson/Fonfara.

The Superduck went to Haymon to get out of that deal. The timing suggests nothing else.

that isn't true, they were ready to put on Kovalev-Stevenson after Sillakh. Stevenson kept putting it off.

They weren't prepared to put on Stevenson-Fonfara without a guarantee of Kovalev-Stevenson.

Stevenson wanted no part of that, no part of Kovalev, no part of Hopkins and no part of Pascal.

Fonfara, Sukhotsky, Bika...this is the reality of what Stevenson, advised by Haymon, wanted.

I wonder how long Kovalev will stall out Beterbiev with the same reasonings Stevenson used ; U Gotta Build Ur Rep Up . I know Kovalev wants no part of that wrecking machine but he's already lending himself to the evils he condemns by telling Beterbiev that he has to work his way up in order to earn a shot against him . Oh how we sing a different tune when we earn some stripes !

Please send me the link when Andre Ward said he needed some tune up fights before specifically fighting GGG . I'd like to review that article .

Stevenson: Mayweather-Pacquiao took a long time, so it's okay if I duck Kovalev for a long time.

Andrade: I don't want to fight Golovkin unless it's as big as Mayweather-Pacquiao.

I'm sure Quillin said some bull**** like that too.

Fk these idiots man, do they think boxing fans are blind?
The funniest part is that its kovalev and kovalev alone thats building this fight up. Meanwhile stevenskn is fighter more mediocre guys
