Guererro was shot against Thurman

I don't think Guerrero is completely shot, and I do still think Thurman's (for the most part) domination of Guerrero was impressive. Guerrero had some brief moments late but he got his ass kicked.
Now that said, Guerrero is clearly on the way down. And fast. He was completely outclassed by miles by Floyd. Not exactly a surprise, but I think more people expected a game effort from Robert that fight. But he didn't even belong in the same ring after watching that fight, much less having a legit chance to make it somewhat interesting. And then he followed that fight up by going absolute life & death with Kamegai, which was even more telling than getting embarrassed by Floyd.
Now toss in an ass whooping by Thurman, and yeah, I think Guerrero's days at the top level are done. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Guerrero is basically Brandon Rios right now. They're both entertaining, moderately powered, come forward face first phone booth brawlers with little defense. In fact I'd go as far as saying that Rios is actually the better fighter overall right now, because I think Bam Bam has a shade or two more in the power department than Guerrero.Comment

No way shot at all. Just simply not as good a welter as people might of thought. Thurmans win over him made him legit. He showed he belongs at the top.Comment

I truly believe that Thurman is a legitimate threat to beat anybody in and around the weight class. Anybody. He may not be a favorite against any and everybody (although he would against most)...but he damn sure is a serious threat.Comment

Don't think he's shot, he is small for weight class, plus Thurman is huge for class and also prime (no wars, very little wear and tear).
if Guerrero was shot, he would have got KO'd in the 9th, or stopped at some point, instead he fought back hard and Thurman decided to not go for the kill.
Someone said he is similar to Brandon Rios, both are tough, game fighters but small for the class, it would actually be a good war, good offense, poor defense and granite chins, make it happen.Comment

Agreed. Thurman is a beast and his killa intentions make it fun to watch him fight.Comment

He lost every single round against Thurman until he started to close the distance and make it an in-fighting brawl though.I believe he came all the way up from Featherweight.
I personally believe the new brawling style he adopted at the higher weights is what did him in. No real significant power to secure KO victories if ever he fell behind on the cards and not tactical enough to outbox a mover. Meh.Comment
