Guerrero had only fought once in almost two years and when he fought, he was badly hurt in outpointing Yoshihiro Kamegai, an average boxer with no special achievements except a high KO percentage. Thurman was going to beat Guerrero before their fight even started, he was completely shot...
Guererro was shot against Thurman

I think you're confusing shot for meaning not a great figher to begin with. He's always been alright and Thurman is simply better.Comment

I read the thread title as, "Guerrero looked like he got shot against Thurman"

Guerrero simply picked up an ineffective style considering his power at 147 and ran with it. Sure it produced two decent wins but against any fighter with movement, I doubt Guerrero would ever have any success with this brawling style, considering how a KO would be highly unlikely.Comment

guerrero went life and death with a guy who just lost to an even more shot gomez
Guerrero was way over hyped. Good fighter yes... world beater hell nah
On top of that he came up from lightweight to welterweight.Comment

I believe he came all the way up from Featherweight.
I personally believe the new brawling style he adopted at the higher weights is what did him in. No real significant power to secure KO victories if ever he fell behind on the cards and not tactical enough to outbox a mover. Meh.Comment
