I agree though, that this fight is up there. What do you think of the comparison to Leonard-Duran 1? Although both Duran and Leonard were at their absolute peak at the time.

Yes. I mean, there has been many great and very big fights in the past Louis-Schmeling one of them. Both of them actually. Dempsey-Carpentier was huge.

But I tend not to include that old fights because the world wasn't exposed to the fighters on the same level as they are now.

Fights like Holmes-Cooney, Tyson-Holyfield, some of the Dela Hoya fights, Liston-Clay I , Holmes-Norton et al, aren't to be sniffed at either.

Especially Holmes-Cooney was a massive fight and one of the most (if not the most) viewed fight in history.
I think you pretty much spelled it out. Duran if I remember correctly was coming up from LW to fight SRL as well.

The Brawl in Montreal is one of those deals you can revisit several times a year as a fan.

    Was a pretty great fight.

K9 Bundrage vs Ishe Smith was a pretty big fight. Definitely a night to remember.

WHen you look at both fighters accomplishments and put them together I don't why it can't be the biggest.

Both are ATG's and have beaten a lot of great fighters between them. I guess the only knock is that they are both not in there primes.

          Pretty much.

It's going to smash live gate, PPV records. Don't think there is any doubt about the money it is going to generate.

But if the fight is a stinker, it's all going to boil down to what most of us boxing fans have been saying on here for a years.

          Why not sooner?

And then we get into the blame game, with literally dozens if not hundreds of threads, thousands of comments about why on this very site. Pick a side. Who gives a fuck anymore.

I'm hoping for a great fight. The sport could use it.

Even though it seems that long, it hasn't quite been.

don't listen to self proclaimed expert writers about this fight and that fight.

This fight is the biggest in all measures.

                    Why?

What is all measures? I'm not adverse to it being considered the biggest, but these guys aren't in their prime any more.
