  • Biggest fight of all time?

I hear a lot of people say Mayweather vs Pacquiao is the biggest fight ever. Firstly because of the money involved, potential PPV - and of course the anticipation etc.

In my opinion it's not the biggest fight of all time. There are several fights I believe had much more anticipation i.e. Ali-Frazier & Ali-Foreman. When Ali fought Shavers I believe they fought on ABC with 1/4-3/4 viewers.

That is 1/4 of the American audience had access to it and 3/4 of those people actually watched it. It was (still is?) the most viewed fight in history.

But what about modern day fights like Leonard-Duran or Leonard-Hagler? How do they compare?

Or Tyson vs Holyfield or Tyson vs Lewis?

Surely it can't just be money, I think we can agree that Mayweather-Canelo is not the second biggest fight ever and also Mayweather vs De la Hoya.

What do you think? Is it the biggest fight ever or is it just a term swung around to help promote the fight?

            Ali-Frazier 1 I think takes the cake.

This one isn't nothing to sneeze at, though.

Will the fight itself live up to the hyperbolic numbers that it should generate?

We can only wait and see.
