Apparently HBO won't host Cotto's next fight unless Canelo is guaranteed next.

Im sure they have some sort of "limit" like they do with the mando's (one year to the date etc)...

Oh I will surely sh^t on cotto if he has the belt and doesn't defend it at all. Especially if its a ww.

Probably the same sources that said Cotto was going to sign with Top Rank, that Manny and Floyd were talking... boxing is big business in terms of money but it's very small business in terms of people.

I don't even know what you're talking about. Most of you posts are incoherent babble, pure ignorance or total ******ity. The fact that your saying HBO is gold standard in one sentence and the "but it gets ratings" defense in the next proves it. No amount of cellphone spin will fix that ****** post or thought.

If that was actually their choice, then you might have a point.

Problem is, Cotto never offered a choice. He never offered much of anything other than "wait around and if I dont get the Floyd fight then maybe I'll fight you in June, or maybe not". Had Cotto put an actual offer on the table for a June fight, I have no doubt Canelo would have accepted it. Yes, he preferred May 2, but everyone knew that the cable distributors would not do duelling ppv's, so everyone accepted that if Floyd-Pac got made, Canelo's fight would have to move, regardless of who he was fighting.

And taking all that into account, did Cotto put a solid offer on the table? NO he did not. So Canelo moved on. Same thing he did when Floyd wanted to have Canelo on his undercard without guaranteeing him the next fight. Canelo said "take a hike".

Like him or not, Canelo makes his own decisions and doesnt take any nonsense

And the same sources who said that May - Pac would not happen and Floyd would be fighting Cotto instead. I believe nothing unless posted by a reliable, identified source. I consider anonymous sources to be worth nothing at all.

Cotto did not sign with TR and Manny and Floyd were not talking until they ran into each other at the basketball game. So much for the usual sources.

You seem fixated on this gold standard thing that I mentioned. I suggest you go back and read what I wrote because never did I say that HBO IS the gold standard of boxing. What I did say was that "I see HBO trying to transition into the Gold Standard of boxing". I then went on to say that "they are trying to stray way from Garcia/Salka type fights".

Stop posting, just stop. Do you read articles or just post bull****? From the start of negotiations Canelo said May and Vegas or Texas only. He went into negotiations demanding that, read and inform yourself. Here's the really interesting part, he also said 50/50 or no go... It gets really crazy here, Cotto still didn't tell him to go **** himself with BS demands like that. Cotto said fine puta, I'll fight you wherever, whenever you want just pay me more money.

Canelo got up and left. You've now been informed, read the internet and news stories on websites other than twitter this cesspool of a message board and then come back to me with your diva defending. Let me put in Canelo language to help you understand. Quack, quack. QUACK quack QUAck.
