There was a rumor floating around Guadalajara that Canelo was knocked out cold during sparring in preparation for his anticipated showdown with Jose Cotto. The identity of the fighter remains unknown but it's speculated he hails from North Carolina. The mysterious fighter,who sported a killer mullet, was reportedly kicked out of the Chepo gym after one brief session.

Again it's simply a rumor, one that has been repeatedly debunked by Canelo's team for obvious reasons.

As big of a Sutherland fan as I am, I'm surprised I haven't heard this rumor. That said I undoubtedly believe it. B-Suth ended careers before they even started in sparring sessions alone.
