This is a calculated risk for Canelo. Kirkland is dangerous but can be hurt early and also he takes like 2 or 3 rounds to warm up.

Canelo is a better boxer than he gets credit for and his fast hands can keep Kirkland from throwing so many punches.

There was a time when i really liked kirkland. I used to think he was tyson reincarnated. The anger he fought with and his style of rugged F you fighting and intimidating glances had me thinking he would be one of the greats of this generation. But he's made some TERRIBLE decisions and i think leaving Anne was the worse decision. She brought the beast out of that boy and without her he looks less than mediocre. He had so much promise in the beginning but now he looks old and bloated. Without Anne Canelo makes easy work of him.

Kirkland needs the decipline that Anne will force on to him. As you see he is not that responsible even in his personal life.
