Why wasn't Canelo able to do what Maidana did in the first Mayweather fight?

Much like kovolev did vs hopkins...
Can't compare Angulo with Mayweather. Angulo is right in front of you and there to be hit. Almost invites an offensive mindset. Terrible defense, slow hand speed. Probably shot during that fight, as well.

Obviously their is a difference between the 2, my whole point is that Canelo needed to let his hands go, sure he is gonna miss floyd and get countered, but at least it gives him the proverbial punchers chance. Looking to box with floyd is just plain dumb and will leave you looking embarrassed, outclassed and pretty much shutout on the scorecards...

Because he has an inflated opinion of his boxing....he literally thought he is better at Floyd's fight than Floyd because none of his yes men ever slapped him, sat him the f.uck down, and told him to stop dreaming.

He could never do what Maidana did in the first fight, because that mainly takes balls...look at the Lara fight.....he took a bit more risks in that fight and that allowed him to steal it....but barely...if that's all the risks he can take against a crafty opponent who can counter him, he could never do enough to trouble Floyd.

I've always said Canelo=poor man's Cotto with worse stamina. Never understood the hype around him. I've never seen a single fight of his where I was really impressed. He's had a few questionable wins when he actually fought someone live. No idea why the Floyd fight was so hyped.

Tell em. All the **** that Floyd has trouble with, Manny does none of it. Styles makes fights. Floyd will dispose of Manny easily. The child prodigy has a point to prove.

              Styles make fights.

Canelo is a boxer and counterpuncher. Style massively favours Floyd.

Maidana is an awkward mauling aggressive brawler type. Style doesn't favour Floyd.

Especially if it's a fairly conventional, fairly plodding, fairly respectful, come forward sort of effort. If you added a couple of wrinkles to Canelo's game, along with a couple of years more experience for Canelo (and age for Floyd), then it might have been a different fight. Canelo stood little chance to start with, and less with that plan. He would have done far better if he played the bully as opposed to trying to box. He'd still be limited by his punch selection, but he probably would have put more of them on Floyd.

I wouldn't advocate fighting 'dirty dirty', but Floyd's a bit of a diva, so I always suggest showing him zero respect or deference in the ring, and making it ugly (if you don't have any other tools in the shed).

Canelo fans before the fight: Floyd would never fight Canelo, he's a scared coward. He wouldn't last 3 rounds and would get K'd the *** out.

I think Floyd was real smart to fight Canelo when he did. The kid is talented and young. He still hasn't hit his peak/prime yet. His only downfall might be his weight. His body hasn't fully matured yet and i think he is too short to dominate the higher weight classes. He will be around way longer than GGG so maybe he can compete at MW for years to come but he better keep it 160 at the most.
