Was Cotto weight drained when he fought Pacquiao?

Looking at Cotto's boxrec, he never fought above welterweight when he met Pacman.

The thing with catch weights is that they are built in excuses. Do I like catch weights? No. But BOTH fighters have to agree to it. With all that said, I don't think Cotto was drained at all. He looked in excellent shape at the weigh in and even had his moments in the fight

After the fight he said it wasn't an issue. About 2 years later, he claims he was weight drained.

At the weigh in Cotto said that he was too strong and too big for Manny. After the fight, Cotto said that Manny was too fast and Cotto couldn't see his punches.

he looked in great shape until he started eating left crosses.

cotta started camp 1 month early. 12 week camp.

he lost weight early instead of cutting a lot.

weight drained fighters lack energy. cotto ran for half the fight. a weight trained fighter wouldn't have the stamina and energy to do that.

Yeah, Cotto was without a doubt in the best shape he had EVER been in heading into that fight. He even stated as such when interviewed. He thought that there was no way that Pac could beat him.
