Prior to fighting GGG people said Stevens will knock GGG out because he has no defense. Geale would outbox GGG because he has no skills and Murray would take GGG into deep waters and overcome GGG because Murray gave Martinez hell and is basically undefeated.

Solid points dude. What annoys me about the ward fans is that they're still living in 2011,leeching off the super 6 tournament,yet they talk about ward as if he's fighting 3-4 times a year,destroying all the top guys.

Andre Ward's resume I do feel gets a little overrated.

A lot of people claim he "cleaned out the division" which isn't entirely true. Yes he won the Super Six but he didn't beat everyone.

He passed on the chance to fight Lucian Bute and the fight against Andre Dirrell fell out of bed for whatever reason - those would have been two very interesting fights and styles he's never faced.

Having said that, if we're comparing it to Golovkin's resume, it squats down, spreads its arse cheeks and takes a giant steaming turd all over it.

Ward has dominated actual top level fighters, not just beat - but comfortably outclassed guys like Froch and Kessler. Golovkin's best win is Martin Murray who is fairly average at best.

It's Funny cause stevens can change the fight in just one punch and he is a good finisher. If you seen the direll and stevens fight then you would know that direll was on his bike the whole fight cause he didn't want to trade with stevens. so if golovkin stands and trades with this dude it will be a short fight and ggg getting the short end of the stick.

Here's the issue with GGG and it stems from the same issue I had with Donaire prior to his title fight with Rigo -

Afro-Americans and Afro-Carribeans are predominantly superior boxers with more depth and abilities than all those hispanics and caucasians on Donaire & GGG's highlight real on youtube. When you face a brotha like Stevens who can box a bit and **** a bunch . . its a different world than where you're coming from as GGG.

Donaire had an afro-centric ephiphany against Rigo as well after being 'managed' through a series of opponents who weren't of the African Diaspora like "El Chacal"

GGG may have an afro-centric ephiphany early on against Stevens who presents problems as an experienced true middleweight and a power-counterpuncher that has a habit of knocking guys out inside of two rounds

Golovkin has been an overwhelming and heavy favourite in every single one of his fights because his opposition has been ****.

Stop trying to act like he defied the odds and expectations by beating Curtis fackin Stevens

All better than Golovkin's best win (Geale). Keep in mind that Ward is 2 years younger and has 5 less career fights than Golovkin.

Haha yeah, i know. Well i think you're getting it, i wasn't really going to diminish Ward's resume or pretend that the majority said GGG would have problems against Stevens. I just found it a bit riduculous that people open threads to diminish GGGs opposition when he is fighting the best available opponents, while the only guy that people think might beat him is totally inactive in the last couple years and never ever even fought outside of his comfort zone. There's more to it than a resume on paper and its interesting to view this from different perspectives.

You guys have any arguments? This thread is basically a counterthread which ridiculed Golovkin's opposition. I just want people to realize that Ward isn't the God some people think he is. He seems to be the last hope for all the GGG doubters/haters though, but if you take a deeper look at both fighters resumes, it makes alot of arguments meritless.

Just tell me where you disagree and have an educated conversation instead of typing meaningless one-liners.

It all sounds fine and dandy on paper, but there's more to it. Every win can be diminished if you look at it from different perspectives.

Every single victory in the Super 6 was achieved in the fighter's homecountry. Froch, Abraham and Kessler all lost to Ward at his backyard, with the refs and the crowd on Wards side.
Would have Ward won vs Froch in England, would he have won vs Kessler in Denmark? Ward had the chance to prove he can defeat Froch in Nottingham, but he ducked the rematch.

Abraham was a good middleweight but he has no business at 168, the loss to Dirrell showed all his flaws, also Abraham didnt have the luxury to fight vs Ward in germany where he performs much better.

Dawson was totally weight drained and his mental state is questionable. If Ward fought him at 175, it would have earned him alot of respect.

Kessler: Which great fighters did he beat, whats up with his resume? I want to know.. i like Kessler alot but he didnt beat any elite fighter.
