B Class
Froch, Kessler
Both wins would count as A on paper, but downgraded to B because of the following reasons:
Andre Ward was the only guy that didn't have to travel to his opponents homecountry during the whole Super 6. All wins in the whole tournament have been won by the guy who fought in their homecountry so you can argue that Ward would have lost to both Kessler and Froch if he fought in Denmark and England, where both men are invincible! (check their records)
Ward headbutted, clinched on every oppportunity and used dirty tactics while having the homerefs in his pocket on both occasions, these tactics would have been prohibited at an unbiased venue. (much more so in the homecountry of Froch/Ward)
A triumph over Froch would count as A if Andre would have had the balls to rematch Froch in Nottingham, but he ducked the opportunity and rather takes 3!? tuneup fights (probably in his backyard again) instead of fighting the likes of Froch and Golovkin.
Before Ward even steps into the ring against Golovkin, the CEO of Roc Nation even said it will take alot of time, they want to build it up much more and Andre needs tuneups first. Here is the interview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZjXed3tHgc
The Kessler win doesn't qualify as A because of the aforementioned criteria, additionaly i think Kessler is a bit overrated on this forum, his best effort was the loss to Calzaghe, what other big names did Kessler beat before losing to Ward?
C Class
Abraham, Bika
Both flatfooded unskilled forward marching sluggers, who both lost when they stepped up their competition, Bika is cannon fodder for all the bigger names like Dirrel, Stevenson and Ward. Abraham is too small for 168, but too lazy to make weight and drop to 160 where he belongs.
D Class
Dawson (walking zombie, weight drained, mental state)
Edison Miranda (got knocked out by Abraham, no skills)
Allan Green (lost to Miranda, got knocked out by Glen Johnson)
Edwin Rodriguez (fought nobody prior to Ward)
Unranked
Darnell Boone (losing record, still almost knocked out Ward)
All the rest of his opposition isn't worth being mentioned.
Summary
Not really the good opposition as people imagine. As comparison Golovkin's resume is much meatier with less bums and alot of B/C level fighters. He surely misses some elite fighter on his record but he can't force nobody to fight him.
Prior to fighting GGG people said Stevens will knock GGG out because he has no defense. Geale would outbox GGG because he has no skills and Murray would take GGG into deep waters and overcome GGG because Murray gave Martinez hell and is basically undefeated.
If GGG wasn't there the MW division wouldn't look as bad as it does with Golovkin totally destroying the whole weightclass. He has always faced the best possible opponent, no matter where. He ducks no one, is far more active and fights all around the world, he would jump to the occasion to fight Froch in Nottingham. Ward has a ton of bums on his records, the ranked opposition are very few.
One question remains, will Ward ever fight out of his comfort zone and travel? He would surely earn some respect, but don't sell Wards opposition as something that it isn't. Fighting in your backyard, with your homecrowd and your refs makes alot of fighters look good, Froch and Kessler also never lost at home, there's a reason Ward isn't travelling to Nottingham.
