Back when Cleverly was with Enzo Calzaghe, he was a very good jab and move type boxer, and always exceptionally fit. He obviously trained very hard back then.

If he can get back to that style of boxing, and that level of fitness, he can definitely beat Braehmer.

I don't know if he can do it though. He's still young enough, but maybe the Kovalev fight broke his heart and he doesn't have the belief and motivation any more. Only time will tell.

I don't like Cleverly but let's not forget that he demanded Kovalev himself rather than being fed another bum by Warren.

        In what way?

        He's won British/Commonwealth/European/World titles.

He's probably over achieved if anything as he'll never be good enough to be the champion in a weight division.

I'm not even sure he beats Braemer.

If Cleverly is anything like he was pre Kovalev, im sure he could out work Braehmer. However if hes anything like his last fight, he gets stopped.

He badly needs to hook back up with Enzo to re-start his career. head movement and footwork have been lacking in the last few fights.

I do expect him to be pretty embarrassed he gassed in the Bellew fight, Cleverly has always been know for a high work rate. So he should be much much fitter if the Braehmer fight comes off.

Braehmer isnt that good, plus he's 36. Cleverly isnt that good either, but I reckon he could pull off a points win here. Then most prb get beat by Stevenson in the next fight.

Or maybe he was just better than people are giving him credit for being now.

After his dad took over from Enzo he tried to turn Cleverly into something he was never meant to be - an aggressive pressure fighter who went toe-to-toe with his opponents and knocked them out.

He has the chin to fight like that - though not with Kovalev! But he doesn't have the fire-power.

After that Bellew fight, which I think he throw 12 punches the whole fight, he should not be allow to talk about boxing let alone mention fighting for a belt. I respect him stepping in the ring and something that not a lot of people can do but after that performance, please retire and use your maths degree. Read a comment above about over achieving which is true and fair play. Right place right time. I am still a bit upset about him losing to Bellew as he will never shut up about him winning.

A ****** yet very admirable decision. I respected him after that. I thought he would have beaten Braehmer when they were originally supposed to meet. Not sure now. Wonder if he's kicked the drinking

cleverly has bad posture, he is high volume but he's not transfering his weight cause his feet are too wide, he hasnt learnt from this, he ends up slapping more as the fight goes on. although nothing wrong losing to kovalev. He's always been fit, he's been warned for slapping in the murat fight.
