It is ****ing pathetic. GGG is selling himself short by marketing himself as a poor mans Ceser Chavez. At least he is not on the Miguel Cotto level of f*ggotry. I mean seriously this guy makes Liberace look straight
Is sad the way they are marketing GGG as an Honorary Mexican

Golovkin was a decorated amateur, winning an Olympic gold for his home country Kazahkstan, spent the first five years of his career based in Germany, and now, in the name of trying to turn him into a star, his camp has been blatantly pandering to a fanbase that he has no basis in.
Kovalev, without having the super decorated amateur career or being formally built up in a home market, has a chance to crossover into a star because he fights his own fight, has his own personality, punches like a mule, and is actually somewhat conversational in English.
He didn't have to throw on the proverbial sombrero and try to adopt somebody else's style to get his chance.Comment

Doesn't Golovkin own a new home out here in Cali?
I think it makes sense for the Golovkin media team or whatever you want to call them, cater to the biggest fan base publicity wise over on this side of the country.
Probably looking at the short fence on this, but it can't hurt.Comment

Mexicans have no choice right now. Canelo is hiding on 155lbs, Rubio quit and Margarito is being gay in tight yellow shirts.
GGG is their new hero. It's temporary until Memo or Capetillo can build another "warrior..."Last edited by PeasantCrusha; 03-19-2015, 09:57 PM.Comment

Is it as sad as Lara trying to do the same thing only to be met with utter apathy from Mexicans which caused him to abandon it and start calling himself the american dream....only to be met with more apathy?Last edited by Mikhnienko; 03-19-2015, 10:25 PM.Comment
