Oscar boxed on his toes for 9 rounds made Trinidad look foolish he couldn't get set rds 10-12 he ran out gas. That version of Oscar would've schooled Cotto

And it's the age old "style makes fights." Tito is more George Foreman and Cotto is more Frazier. Cotto does well against pure boxers and always has while struggling against power punchers. Tito can out **** anybody but anybody that boxes defensively can pick him apart.

It's as simple as that. Cotto vs Oscar would of been a much better fight competitively imo and action wise too because Oscar wouldn't of been so defensive against Cotto.
      awful comparisons, philly. awful.

george was a brute, unrefined slugger with awesome power.

while tito had power he was a skilled boxer-puncher.

frazier was a pressure fighter who walked through punches to wear you down.

cotto lacks stamina and the chin to be a pressure fighter. that's why though he beats down mediocre guys, he tries to box skilled opponents.

boxer-punchers usually lose to skilled boxers who move and has speed.

oscar is a boxer puncher himself but he was quicker than tito and played the boxer role vs tito.

Oscar would hurt him multiple times, one sided fight.

I too am a Cotto fan but there ain't no way in hell he would do better than Trinidad.

I scored De la Hoya/Trinidad 7-5 for Oscar, De la Hoya/Cotto would be a 10-2 type of fight, in Oscar's favor.

You have to take in consideration Cotto would have fought a DLH pretty past it. Just imagine the DLH that showed up to fight Pacquiao, but it was Cotto instead. Had Cotto beat Margartio in the first fight, he was next in line to fight Oscar. It would have been a passing of the torch as Oscar would be completely done just trying to make 147.

The DLH that fought Tito would still be too much for Cotto as Oscar still had pep in his step and a great left hook.

Oscar would have made Cotto take a knee.
