You can really sense Pacquiao's faith in religion when he speaks. I think that's one reason he took his losses to Bradley and Marquez so well.
Other fighters who start every post-fight interview with 'first, let me thank god', you sense they're just doing it because everyone else does..almost a habit.
It's different with Pacquiao though.

To me, it's no coincident Pacquiao has has lost his killer instinct somewhat, and often looked to go easy on opponents when in cruise control...since he has gone deeper in religion. Boxing is no longer the big thing in his life.

Roach is right with what he is saying though. He's often tried to get Pacquiao to be 'nastier'. Return to his older, 'meaner' self. So, of course Roach wants him to be in that frame of mind for the biggest fight of his career...damn, don't we all?

In my opinion one of the biggest problems of religion is the misunderstanding of it. Man tends to use religion to manipulate and gain an upper hand over people that are blind or lost hope. Why do you think preachers, evangelists and so forth are so rich while their congregations are poor? The bible is only a guide book on how to live righteously but all the decisions you make in life are yours to decide and make. We live by the choices we make. The truth is accepted in the heart and executed through everyday actions.

We have to remember Manny is a very simple person in terms of education and intelligence. He is also a world-class athlete in his respective sport. I bet he really believes he is skilled enough to be a player in the PBA or even NBA, just like with the singing thing, and I'd bet the guy really believes God wants him to win and is talking like this to trainers at Wild Card.

The NBA....really? I'd run the table on his short ass in a game of 21! I've seen his hoop skills, or lack there of. Not impressed.
