As usual with this board, the Golovkin talk has gotten way out of hand, some guys trying their hardest to completely rubbish him, others trying to say he's the future goat. That said it is a bit ridiculous he's fighting monroe jr, though at least its in quick succession from his last fight.

As for Froch, even Tom Loeffler said at the press conference that he'd spoke to Eddie Hearn and he is keen to make that fight.
Like I said, it seems a foreign concept with you that a team releases consistent statements to the public. Froch's team have said all along - put the fight on HBO PPV and pay him what he's worth and the fight is a done deal. The fight is growing into a PPV fight now as Froch wanted.
The stuff about Golovkin being a tough fight is true. You seem to think because I think his team are full of **** that I think he's not a good fighter? That's another emotional fanboy leap.
Golovkin does punch hard and it could be a war. I don't see what's wrong with Froch saying that. He said Andre Ward would probably beat him on points if he didn't KO him but he's still willing to fight him now. He's not going to go to war for the chump change that a Golovkin fight brings off PPV. You'd realise that if you posted the whole quotes and not just the parts you selected.
At least he isn't lying to the fans and throwing out conflicting messages regarding certain fights like the erratic and inconsistent members of Team Golovkin. If they'd come out and said that Lara was too tricky to take the risk for not enough reward with a potential Cotto fight round the corner, I'd have a bit more respect for them. We all know that's part of the reason anyway.
Instead you have to desperately try to justify the lies and contradictions of a team who continually mug you off with laughable fights like this next one

I see you still haven't processed that HBO doesn't work with Haymon. It really takes some effort to be that thick

They dont want GGG anywhere near a faster, slicker fighter with superior foot movement. If HBO is so behind GGG they can get anyone to fight him. ANYONE!!! All they gotta do is add zeros to the end of the offer sheets.....'Money answers all things". People will get in the ring with GGG, but not for the same or slighly above what your paying for them to fight Glass Joe. Show me the Money!!!!!!!

Now no matter how committed they are they can't throw enough money at a legit name guy. The other guy will sell the ppv, with GGG a strong B side but taking a much smaller cut.
I don't know which fairy tale you live in my friend.

HBO needs to be called out here as well. I get protecting their investment, but not approving Lara and approving Monroe is ridiculous. HBO needs to force Cotto or Canelo (who has a network deal) to fight GGG. This is the same BS they allowed with Stevenson.
Maybe GGG fights Lara next, but he definitely shouldn't be fighting Monroe now. That's a paid sparring session.

I think it's perfectly reasonable to ask for a bigger name or better fighter. I honestly can't see how anyone can say anything against it.
Announcing it this soon means they knew it was coming.
Cotto isn't fighting anyone, he's willing to fight on HBO. Now, I agree chances are small - but it would be a PPV fight on HBO. Have they even offered Cotto a fight?
Or are we going to hide behind Cotto's own issues.
Even if it's just a stay busy fight, at least fight someone we've heard of before.

Multiple stay busy fights in quick succession because all the top fighters are ducking him, even after he's tried to set them up???
Sounds like elite material today.
Not since Tyson has a whole suite of top opponents been scared to actually face someone.
For good reason too.
