I saw/heard nothing. I basically found out when Boxingscene wrote an article about the winner.

Good number, yes..... But when u factor in the amount spent it's not as impressive.

It's like when Floyd does 700k ppv buys. Sure it's an impressive number until u factor in the 32mil guarantee he's being paid.

From a business perspective these numbers don't look good nor do they give u a return on your investment.

That was absolute horseshit. Almost spoiled some the outcomes of the card by coming on here.

How was this tape delayed when the card was in a West Coast venue? The fuck part of the game is that?

Anyway, whining aside, I think that 850k+ viewers is decent.

It just serves to protect their image and refuse fights with other marque fighters because "the money's not right". Well hell, if fighters were paid properly for the opponents that was brought in just to make them look good, a bigger payday with the step of in class of opponent should be attractive.

Nowadays, guys like Berto, Quillin, Broner, Garcia are getting paid way too much, so when the prospect of fighting another name fighter comes up, the money all of a sudden isn't right and the fights don't happen. Then they are back to getting severely overpaid to fight guys that serve no challenge.
It just so happens that the guy that is "overpaying" fighters (according to your standards) is the same guy that is making a huge push right now to bring boxing back to network.

But you're right they should be matched up tough for peanuts on premium channels ... It keeps em hungry.

To put it into perspective Arreola's title fight on ESPN pulled around 900k on the much bigger network. Were people actually think that an event with him on the undercard for a smaller fight would lift the bar? Nobody on that card was capable of drawing in higher numbers so even reaching that number is quite impressive. That's better than 90% of the shows on Spike.

What exactly did you think it would do?
                ^^^^^All truth!

Hahaha, complaining about the #'s, not knowing that they were actually good for a Friday card on spike.

Friday night cards pay out 1/20 of that in purses

exactly! Just read the comments and you can immediately tell who's a fans of boxing 4real.
I don't even care to know how much they got paid. Just pay them respectable and put it on tv.
How could you want this to fail just because of Haymon? I just want good match-ups and less ppv.

Real boxing fans would give a damn once they realized that Haymon is overpaying his fighters and could ultimately lead dozens of careers down a slippery slope if his plans fail.

                      "But they good fights, doe!"

Really? Aside from Guerrero vs Thurman, what other fight is worth a damn? Broner vs Molina was a sleeper.

Berto vs Lopez was a fight between two washed up fighters at this point and had a shady stoppage(for many).

Mares vs El Santos.... nuff said.

Chris vs Harper was surprisingly entertaining but really did nothing for the sport.

Porter vs Bone was nothing but an exhibition match.

Seriously, do you not get it? These ratings are not stellar. Atleast, not in accordance with the ridiculous purses Haymon is throwing at his fighters night in and night out to simply face sparring mates.

Put it this way... Fighters are getting paid damn near 1 million to face sparring partners, how much would it cost to have them fight a legitimate threat? How long could Haymon sustain these astronomical purses?

With over 150 fighters under him, Haymon has the fate of damn near half the sport in his ventures. If you aren't concerned with how he will be able to sustain such ridiculous cards for the coming months then I think you need to rethink your original statement.

I'm usually not concerned with purses and what not, but this is different. Haymon has so much on his shoulders and all though it's too early to call, you can't blame folks for being skeptical over his decisions, especially after the stellar 2014 he gave us over at shotime.
