When Ward fights GGG and Wilder fights Klitchko where do u think the impetus , outside of the African American community , will be ? It doesn't take much considering how much Ward is bashed on here for no good reason .

Ward is criticized for inactivity and excessive clinching.

Most acknowledge he's one of the most talented boxers in the sport so quit whining about the racist crap.

The pressure is all Stevenson to make this fight now. It makes sense for him to take the fight too. He's not so good that there's no chance of him getting derailed in the meantime. And he has a decent shot at winning. If he loses to someone else he's done.

Adonis Stevenson has absolutely no chance, just like no other 175lber at the moment has a chance to defeat Kovalev.


Kovalev beats Adonis down worse then Pascal. Why? Adonis is a plodder. He's slow. His footwork sucks. He has a huge right hand. Not to mention he has an absolute glass chin (Kovalev doesn't. Please no mentions of some NO VIDEO fight with Darnell Boone 6 years ago in which he supposedly got knocked down.... This fight is nothing more then a myth. No video, no care. inb4 someone mentions KO'd in the amateurs. Who cares? It was the amateurs and he fought a supremely talented World Championships gold medalist. He's taken every opponents best punches in the pros and never been rocked, stunned or shocked.)


That's it. As soon as Kovalev touches Adonis' early in the first he's going to be in straight up survival mode just like any other fighter who faces him.

Adonis STevenson is absolutely tailor made for Kovalev.... He doesn't have any boxing ability. He's a plodder with power. To have ANY sort of a chance to even have SOME success against Kovalev you have to have ELITE, I mean ELITE footwork and boxing ability, and even then to survive 12 rounds and do much more then just use your boxing ability and speed to survive will be damn tough. It'd take an absolute masterclass of a performance for somebody to survive 12 rounds with Kovalev AND score points- and not merely survive.

Adonis Stevenson is easy work. He would of got decimated in 2013, he gets decimated now.

Sergey Kovalev has once in a life time-two-handed power... to go WITH very good technical boxing ability. A stiff jab. Utilization of feints with the left, followed by krushing right hands that you never see coming. Good footwork aside from him sometimes leaping due to lack of respect for an opponents power, otherwise for the most part he stays disciplined and has ELITE measurement of distance. He has world class/elite timing and accuracy, with BOTH hands (combined with his crippling power), which makes it damn near impossible to even think about doing anything in the ring other then worry about surviving and keeping your head in tact.


Sergey Kovalev will not be beaten. It is what it is. Adonis Stevenson will be the easiest fight of Kovalev's championship reign thus far.


A slow plodder with NO boxing ability and NO skill other then power in one hand. Not to mention a glass chin.


Make it happen. Don't run this time.

I won't get tired of saying this because this reminds of the Garcia vs Lucas hype. I always felt it was 50-50 even when I rooted for Matthysse.

I dislike Stevenson because I just can't look past his past, even if he reformed. I hate the fact that he switched networks just when the Kovalev fight was being negotiated.

Yet I am not ****** to deny that Stevenson's monster left can put ANYONE down, even Kovalev who gets a little awkward and open in exchanges. If Adonis can avoid Kovalev and land just 1 big shot, it cane be over., no question.

So, 50-50 fight.

Agree with all this. Too much animosity towards Stevenson, well deserved, to fairly breakdown this fight. Stevenson is more than capable of beating Kovalev.
