Beterbiev is still unproven as a pro. His only notable opponent of his 7 pro fight career was Travis Cloud who is on a 3 fight losing streak and lost a unanimous decision to the then 48 year old Hopkins. GGG has no interest at fighting at 175 lbs. and rightfully so. Kovalev probably walks around at 200 lbs and is much bigger than him. Adonis Stevenson's only notable opponent was Chad Dawson who he bum rushed...Kovalev takes him into deep water and it's good night...he doesn't have the stamina for him. Andre Ward I doubt will step up to 175lbs and take that chance with his shoulder still questionable after surgery. He will fight soft opponents for a while with JayZ. Right now nobody beats Kovalev.

But agree that Beterbiev is already a top 5 light heavyweight. But it would be a great fight.
I said it here: Beterbiev needs some more fights... In a year and a half tops he would be ready for Kovalev...

As about Ward or Stevenson chances for beating Kovalev: I can't see any of them risking to meet the Krusher into the ring... Therefore any further discussion would be superfluous.

Nobody at 168/175 consistently beats him. you'd have to look to cruiser & heavy.

HW is a weak divsion. Kovalev could have easily KO'd both the HWs who fought in the co-main that night

Beterbiev will do the job, I'd expect it to happen in about a years time.

Kovalev walks through the rest at 175.

                      Adonis Stevenson can beat him.

With every fight i see of kovalev's his chances diminish though
