Kovalev hasn't beaten anyone even remotely close to prime RJJ level and it's pretty foolish to even speculate he'd beat prime Roy. If he can get thoughWard andStevenson, thenyouhave an argument but at this point it's a shameless reach.

You could say the same for Roy. He never faced a lion like King Kov in his prime.

I like SK very much and I think he has good chances against Stevenson & Ward (provided he'll manage to get them in the ring). But he will not be able to catch Jones often enough.

These so called fans on here overrate certain fighters. Floyd, Roy, and BHOP to be exact. SK is a KILLER. Period. He's too smart for Roy. He is going to set traps and hit you all while not falling into your traps. What he did to Hopkin's, he would do to any version of Hopkin's. He is a very smart and calculating fighter. Roy gets KO'ed. Roy isn't hurting him with one of those fast, flashy shots he throws. In a fight where both guys will get hit, who would you put your money on? Exactly. Smh. What we didn't know about Roy in his prime is, he couldn't take a punch. He could never take a punch!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kovalev at his current age could not hold RJJ's jock strap at the same age. RJJ's hands and feet were entirely too fast. Because of Roy's speed he could have possible ko'd kovalev cause its highly likely he would have caught him with a punch he did not see coming.

Did you see Chris Byrd taking punches from heavies? Then have you seen his return to LHW? The assumption that Roy could never take a punch is wrong.

Roy Jones by one sided UD. Kovalev is getting overrated here. He was dropped many times in his amateur career and then scooled and dropped by GGG by bodyshot in sparring sessions.

I DON'T! I DARE Roy to try that tactic against SRL or Hagler or Holyfield or Hearns or SK. He gets hit in the mouth. He was technically FLAWED! How much about boxing do you really know, kid? He is no boxing god. If Tarver can KO him, Glenn Johnson, then SK can KO him. PERIOD./SIZE]
Since you know so much what was type of fighter always gave Roy problems? He even admitted this type of fighter gave him problems because it was hard to see the punch coming.south paws. What is traver? A south paw. Its the punch you don't see coming that hurts you. Traver hit him with a windmill over hand left after traver had already slipped and ducked to Roy's left. And he caught Roy with that shot. But when it comes to Johnson it was plain to see that post traver ko every move Roy made in the ring he 2nd guessed his self. He no longer trusted his reflexes and instincts. This was plain to see to any advid boxing fan. That's what allow Johnson to get the ko. Had Johnson fought Jones before Ruiz and the traver ko he would not have gotten the ko or the win because Roy's confidence was still there.
But what I wAnt to know from you is how can someone who fought and beat everyone he was asked to fight (with the exception of DM) in his prime the benefactor of careful match making. And the only reason him and DM did not fight us because he wasn't coming here and Roy wasn't going there. So who did he avoid? Eubank wasn't trying to fight him. Benn wasn't trying to fight him. McCellan got the injury before the fight could have been made so he did he avoid. Hagler Leonard and Hearns were not existent after Roy turned pro. So who do you feel he ducked .

I'm pretty sure Kovalev is naturally bigger than RJJ.

Bigger, stronger, more heart, more power, and a killer instinct. Roy would get stopped.
