"Krusher" Kovalev vs RJJ@ 168-175lbs/12-12.5 Stone. Who wins?

King Kov is just another nickname like Krusher. Just like "King Khan" who isn't the king of anything unless there is a kingdom of glass chins somwhere. Both of you don't need to read into that, lol.
Irregardless, it's a valid discussion. It's not a slight to RJJ when I say Kovalev may very well beat him, it's a testament to what a complete and dangerous fighter Kovalev is. You can question Kovalevs resume, but that's it, and it will grow, unlike RJJ legacy.Last edited by LoadedWraps; 08-27-2015, 02:20 PM.Comment

He doesn't need it to grow. Let's put this in to pure numbers context:
Kovalev:
Weights championed in: 1
World title fights: 7
Best wins: 49 year old Hopkins, Nathan Cleverly, Jean Pascal
Roy Jones Jr:
Weights championed in: 4 Middleweight, supermiddleweight, lightheavyweight, heavyweight (first guy in 100+ years to do it)
World title fights: 26
Best wins: Bernard Hopkins, James Toney, Montell Griffin, John Ruiz, Mike McCallum, Virgil Hill, Antonio Tarver
- Point is, RJJs resume or career doesn't need to grow. It already takes a huge steaming dump on Kovalev's like no ones business.Comment

What a joke.......
You know RJJ did fight Mike McCallum right?
And he had already beaten James Toney with ease ,who beat both Nunn and McCallum.
I think you're completely out of your depth. Michael Nunn did become Roy's mandatory at 175 I believe, but he was past it then anyway. No big fuss was made about it.
Yes, I do. I purposely mentioned the ducking aspect because Mike wasn't a Light heavyweight. He was fat and OLD. Why do you think Roy fought him, man? I know they fought but the fight was irrelevant because of WHEN they fought. Prime MM beats Roy Jones.Comment

I know RJJ resume doesn't need to grow. I never said Kovalevs resume compares, or would even compare when it's all said and done. I just mean to say that we know who RJJ was in his prime and througout his career, Kovalev has yet to peak, and is this good already and without bigger fights.Lol grow unlike RJJs?

I think some of you are seriously, seriously underestimating Kovalev here.Comment

So why not put Superman for Roy's name in the answers?King Kov is just another nickname like Krusher. Just like "King Khan" who isn't the king of anything unless there is a kingdom of glass chins somwhere. Both of you don't need to read into that, lol.

That's my point. All these boxing noobs don't have a clue about Jones because they weren't around in his domination period so they just dog him because all they know is the bum that he turned into. It's like faulting Ali for being a shell when he lost to Berbick.Comment
