    Ha! Okay.

He barely lost rounds in his prime.

    Kov's too smart?

Kov seems easy enough to hit to me.

Bump the thread in a few years time.

[SIZE="4"]Again. Roy was the product of great match making. You guys get off on seeing guys talk trash and putting their hands behind their backs, against C/D Level opposition. I DON'T! I DARE Roy to try that tactic against SRL or Hagler or Holyfield or Hearns or SK. He gets hit in the mouth. He was technically FLAWED! How much about boxing do you really know, kid? He is no boxing god. If Tarver can KO him, Glenn Johnson, then SK can KO him. PERIOD./SIZE]

      What a joke.

RJJ beats the breaks off of any man in the history of the 175lb division.

Really? Shut up Fanboy. Roy is not a TOUGH guy. Ezzard Charles, Holyfield, Moore, and Spinks all KO him. hat the hell is wrong with you? You're a "noob".

          Prime Roy probably decisions Kovalev.

I think he's capable but fighting the caliber of opponents he has is not helping him learn.
Fighting Stevenson and Ward will give him a chance to develop better boxing skills and improve his judgement on choices. He is still a raw talent compared to past lightheavy greats like a Mike Spinks or Bob Foster who bring power with them.
I like him and his era right now is a good one for his talents.

You could also be flippant and mention Glen Johnson.

He was obviously referring to when Roy was prime. Although he has exaggerated.

There's been some great LHW's over the years.

You act like Kovalev is Amir Con. Roy will hit Kovalev flush but not too often, and King Kov won't go down like a sack of potatoes when it happens. Both fighters gave power in both hands, but I give the chin edge to Kovalev.

Now, obviously Kovalev won't hit Roy at will, but Roy makes enough mistakes in a fight that Kovalev can expose and take advantage of. He drops his hands and relies on athleticism because he can, but it's not an infallible approach, and the biggest mistake I see people making in this thread is that people are seriously underrating Kovalev's skills as a boxer. He's the perfect storm of a fighter. High ring IQ, devastating power, and a true boxer who can adapt to any fighter, set traps, counter, and eat shots if he needs too, but he also is very defensively sound.
