Also, why is it insane to think that Ruiz could have beaten Kov?

Styles make fights. Kov doesn't possess the speed that Roy had. Roy beat him easily by having superior speed. He could pot shot him at will. For Kov to have beaten Ruiz, I think he'd have had to have beaten him by fighting him and not boxing him. It could have been a hard nights work for him. Ruiz wasn't garbage, he was just awful to watch. He was a spoiler. But he was 230 pounds and a lot of decent HW's had hard nights against him.
Great post. I'm impressed. Well done.

Kovalev would take this by KO in my opinion.

This is a hard one to call, Kovalev is a much smarter and hard hitting fighter than Tarver ever was and even with Roy Jones Jr being in his prime I just get the feeling in the heart that Kovalev would likely get to Roy and hurt him bad, Roy has the power in his hands to cause anyone problems but he doesn't possess the amount that makes me think he'd be able to put someone like Kovalev out to sleep...
This is a hard one to call I say Kovalev but honestly its a 50/50 both very good fighters.

It would have been a dangerous fight for Roy, but the Tarver fight doesn't really affect my opinion here. Roy had one punch knockout power at LHW, and he had a wide variety of shots, so he would have been a serious threat to Kovalev. All in all, a very dangerous fight for both guys.

People forget how hard Roy could hit when he wanted too. He stopped Virgil Hill with a body shot to the right side.... Not a liver shot... only time I have ever seen a fighter stopped with a right hand to ribs. The only other stoppage Hill had in his career was vs Mormeck at Cruiserweight via Cuts...

People seem to forget Virgil Hill... Olympic Silver Medalist... 20 title defenses at light heavyweight... Hall of Famer...

Prime Roy, way to fast, hits much harder than people give him credit for these days.

Bad example. Virgil Hill was past it when Roy fought him. Be real, man. And who cares how HARD Roy could "hit". SK would not be afraid of him and hits even HARDER than Roy does. Stop overrating him. HE DIDN'T HAVE A CHIN!!!!!!!!!! PERIOD!
