Cotto is the A side, you can hear it in Abel Sanchez words - they are getting desperate - I do not see Cotto being blown out like everyone else has it - Cotto is not going to lay on no ropes, Cotto is going to use his footwork, Cotto will be going to the body, and Cotto pops out a Jab! All of these attributes are opposite of what all of GGG's past opponents have done. Cotto has a team behind him, I think he is tied up at the moment because of The big fight and Roach has to focus on Manny so Cotto is in no hurry and he got a signing bonus - so no speculation on who's a B!tch, who's irrelevant etc..

Cotto didn't duck Canelo, Canelos team was the one who cut negotiation because os the date. Is not secret that Cotto would not have Freddie Roch time to train him due to the May-Pac fight, so don't be an idiot. That said, GGG becomes "great" NOT by getting his hands on a shiny object, but rather by FIGHTING. So unlike some, I never get caught up in the shiny things like belts and the politics. I like to see competetive fights... I'd sooner watch GGG fight a guy ranked at #6 who is a legit threat, over a "middleweight champion," who we KNOW does not belong at middleweight.


My position is simple: GGG VS Cotto is not really a fight most true fans need to see play out. And yet, so many are acting like THIS is the fight GGG needs to make a REAL mark in his career.


The double standard: Cotto's win over Sergio is not acknowledged because Sergio was "handicapped...." and yet, GGG's win over Cotto, would be celebrated by peasants as the greatest thing ever even though, we all know Cotto is TOO SMALL for Middleweight.

If Canelo beats Kirkland in good fashion, he should go after GGG. GGG said he would fight Floyd @ 154, so he can definitely fight Canelo @ 154. Now since Canelo is fighting @ 155, and he's opposed to "weight-draining" a fighter, he should just fight GGG @ 160. No reason not to see GGG vs. Alvarez, on HBO PPV, coming this fall!

Golovkin beating Cotto is more an exercise in making Golovkin a star in a PPV fight.
