Asked when he knew Pacquiao would win (vs DLH), trainer Freddie Roach answered: “Before the fight started. When he gained two pounds [from 145 to 147] between the weigh-in and fight time.”
In an earlier point in the interview, Roach said: “I saw the IV in his arm, I saw the IV marks, it was fresh tape, they hydrated him too late, they waited too long to hydrate him. It was nothing illegal… The thing was, they couldn’t get anything into his system… Nobody let him build his body back up. They did it to themselves.”Comment

Maybe so, he lack the explosiveness and the constant moving, but still has the superior footwork, handspeed and work rate.
Pacquiao has to box at mid rang and keep the fight in the centre of the ring and keep turning Floyd, never let him get set.Comment

Roach said he knew Pacquiao would beat Oscar, from the fight with Floyd. He knew Oscar couldn't throw the right hand anymore, and that was the reason the Floyd fight got away from him.
Oscar was shot when he fought Floyd, but still managed to just drop a SD to Floyd.Comment

I can respect that view. But in my opinion this fight won't come down to youthful athleticism, but skills and experience. And I think Floyd has the edge today.Comment

I think regardless of what the Pac predicted before the fight, the weight was an issue with Oscar. On top of that, Oscar was just a big name at that time. Oscar was not Oscar when he fought a prime Manny. Not true.

Pacquiao been in more fights been in boxing longer, and fought a huge variety of opponents.
He learns from every fight, and learns more from losses.
Pacquiao and Roach have been planning this fight for 5/6 years.Comment
