Berto fought for the wba interim belt that thurman just had before being upgraded to regular champ. Either berto will fight thurman next or it will be porter vs berto for a shot at thurman.

Or they're doing danny garcia vs berto to line the winner up for thurman.

I was thinking that Berto-Thurman would be each fighter's next fight even before Berto fought Lopez. If not Berto, Haymon will put Thurman in the ring with Zab Judah or Victor Ortiz or some other washed up opponent. Haymon is not going to risk putting Thurman in the ring with Maidana or Khan or the Peterson/Garcia winner for at least two to three more fights.
