No, he's a victim of fighting 4 times per year. If he fought once a year, like say, I don't know... Cotto, it would be easy to find a decent opponent. But at the moment everyone decent in the division has a fight signed and is not available. As GGG is not someone who enjoys sitting on his ass like so many others today, he will fight a lower level opponent to stay busy and give his fans something to watch and cheer for.

If some people are not satisfied with that, but are satisfied with their favourite fighter fighting one a year or twice every three years or however many times their guy fights, it is not our fault that they are so easily satisfied. But then some people are happy ****ing fat ugly women too. It takes all kinds to make up this world of ours.

This argument is actually really simple. Its about who budges first? Does GGG move up or does Cotto vacate? Obviously the only one on the clock right now is Cotto since he has only a mando left and then hes forced to fight GGG. What goes against GGG is the fact that he is so active. Dude is fighting 4 times a year and not every guy he fights is gonna be top-tier caliber.

GGG will have the same problem no matter what division he fights in. It will never be an easy thing to find 4 top level opponents per year and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Algieri was hardly a challenge for Pacquaio and he only fights twice a year, if we are lucky. So what if GGG has two quality opponents per year and two keep busy, but still ranked, opponents per year? It's not like we are being asked to pay $70 on PPV to watch him fight is it? These fights are still better than anything we have seen on PBC or are likely to see in the near future. Don't like it? No problem! Don't watch it! I don't watch PBC because it is an insult to me as a boxing fan and to my intelligence in general by trying to pass that crap off as competitive fights.

Me personally id rather watch him fight twice a year against dangerous opponents on PPV then watch him fight four times against sub caliber guys. Its obvious hes fighting 4 times a year to try and be more popular with the fans and hopefully that will transition to the casual fan who pays for PPV's.

He is fighting twice a year against decent opponents. Murray was a decent opponent and a ranked contender, as are most all of his opponents. It is not GGG's fault that he is so much better than everyone else in the division. I would rather watch the other two fights as well over only seeing him fight twice a year. The extra two fights change nothing. Don't like 'em? Don't watch 'em.

People get down on GGG for being so dominant in his division but Mayweather is dominant in his division and no one clamours for him to move up and defend the 154 title he has sitting in his pocket. At least GGG is out there fighting. I just don't understand people who pretend they are boxing fans. They rave about the crap Haymon is passing off as PBC but dump on fighting champions like Golovkin.

Yeah, they're really boxing fans. Sure they are.

There are three realistic PPVs for Golovkin - Canelo, Cotto and Chavez Jr. Cotto will probably never fight him, he even said Golovkin "can have the belt" because "no one" dictates Miguel Cotto's career, in regards to GGG being his mandatory. Chavez being with Al Haymon now may have killed that potential fight, but who knows, perhaps it's possible at some point. So that really just leaves Canelo. Obviously Canelo is going to want to get Cotto, but if he doesn't, a GGG fight would be big so that's the most likely one. Everyone else - Ward, Froch, down to Quillin and the likes, unlikely would ever be PPV caliber fights. Good money, really good money especially Froch in the UK, but not PPV (at least not in America).

GGG and his handlers shouldn't worry about that. Just keep fighting the best guys available, if a PPV type fight presents itself then great, if not oh well that's just life.

GGG is over 30, with over 30 fights in the same weight division. He can move up and dare to be great. Especially when divisions are closer together.

Or he can establish himself as the undisputed, undefeated middleweight champion of the world and become only the third person in boxing history to achieve such a feat. Really he would be the first as Hopkins was not undefeated and Taylor beat Hopkins for the honour but did not win the individual titles himself. That is something no other fighter has done and which will make history. It would be nice to see history made in the ring instead of at the box office.

                  • Monroe would beat Cotto.
