Because you can easily run into a Peterson/Morales situation again, where the A-sample failed, but the B-sample takes a long time to return. And then either the fight happens anyway or gets canned at the very last minute.

Id say canned at the last minute is best case, if cheater involved.

Yes, but that's a big problem. What happens if a positive result doesn't get sent til post fight? After that, the damage is done. Like for instance, there have been times when NSAC got a positive test from a pre-fight or post fight test. But had they randomly tested the fighter many weeks in-advance, they would've most likely found out the fighter was sky high juiced and saved his opponent from damage.

But when you test late, you risk receiving bad results late after the fact.

Too many late tests there. Not one time did they do it timely and catch a cheat. That goes under effectiveness and professionalism

What does mean more professional. VADA is barely existing. They have a code which the collectors don't even follow and their financial funding is unclear.

USADA doesn't mismanage their timelines. It comes down to money. You want that result faster, pay the extra fee. You want results faster, that's like 30$ at the UCLA lab.

Well, that's wrong. Look up what happend to the MMA fighters Wanderlei Silva and Chael Sonnen. Both tested randomly (by the NSAC) when their fight was announced. Silva banned for life after he ran from the test, Sonnen banned for two years.
