Well Bob at least you can steal one more big paycheck for the dumbest boxer in boxing history
Pac has done pretty well with Bob. Maybe didnt maximize his earning potential, but hes got his politics and cant be playing promoter. Even after getting Ktfoed and losing some Ppv appeal hes making 20m just due to Arums Macau connections. Cotto otoh left TR for a decent Floyd payday, then got embarrassed by Trout for a peanuts, a $1m guarantee lol. Hes got some ridiculous guarantee now by a promotion with no track record but lets wait till they make goid on some of these guarantees, big time money losing

Lets kill some of the B.S. that these idiots think they know. Cotto signed with Roach before Top Rank was in the picture. Cotto was going to fight rodriguez, on behalf of Cotto GBP approached showtime with the fight and Showtime said sure they would carry it for 1.5 mill, Top Rank went to HBO on behalf of Cotto and HBO offered 3 Mill with the understanding that Cotto's following fight would be on HBO.
Top Rank didnt get Cotto Martinez, Martinez doesnt fight for Top Rank and Cotto could have gotten that fight without Top Rank, especially because HBO wanted the fight badly. in both Cases Penagraciano provided Roach with 3 names and Roach chose the opponent, Top Rank was lead promoter.
After the Canelo negotiations broke down De La Hoya said that Canelo gave into all Cotto's demands, however a few days later Pengraciano said they never moved off the 50/50 and in the end they could not agree on the money. Debauf said that cotto was getting the lions share, depending on who you believe you can see that there is a problem, Top Rank who is supposed to be defending their fighter seems to be trying to force that fighter into a bad deal using public media negotiating tactics to pressure Cotto, And for the record Cotto has never lied about negotiations and damn near never discusses them, so again this comes down to who you believe.

In any case Cotto owes Top Rank nothing, Roach was on board before Top Rank was Back in the Picture, Rodriguez was signed to fight Before Top Rank was in the Picture, although Debauf negotiated on Cottos behalf, Martinez was delivered by HBO and Dibella. Top Rank blew the Canelo negotiations and lost Cotto to a better deal pretty simple.

Damn that's all you got out of my post? I don't like Broner that's not a secret but I wasn't trying to rag on the guy just for the sake of it, I was merely using him as an example because he is fresh on everyone's mind due to the fact he fought a few days ago and stated and I quote "the last time I fought for the fans and I lost" then he try to go on some rant about Ricans. Lol

So yes, at one point Cotto wanted to do what he felt at that time, was the honorable thing. Is Cotto bound to be a sucker for life as a result of his initial intention PRIOR to Arum revealing his dirty hand?

Come on now... Don't be afraid to think without the hate-goggles every now and then.
That doesn't change the fact that Cotto went back on his word which is exactly what Arum has accused him of. So clearly Arum is not lying about Cotto promising to be at TR for the rest of his career because its right there on tape.

Instead of manning up and admitting that he did indeed say this, Cotto is trying to save face and save his public image by throwing dirt back at Arum.

It's a lot better for his image than saying that he whored himself out to the highest bidder whilst lying to the public.

I have no issue with Cotto changing his mind and taking the Roc deal but he's clearly in no position to be calling anyone else a liar.

Wow, are you honestly this slow?

By your reasoning, Cotto was bound to Arum for LIFE even if Arum was stealing from him. Do you realize how not smart you sound?

The only thing you are making clear, is that you are a fan of promotors and not so much, the guys who get in the ring and actually fight. It's clear you are not a fan of anything Cotto, but damn son. Naivete 101

With this one post, you have proven to be smarter than 99% of the posters in this place. Amazing how these clowns are defending Arum if only to mask their dislike of Cotto. REAL fans of this sport appreciate the type of fighter that Miguel Cotto has been throughout his career.

                Again, props to you.

What does "stealing fron him" mean? Didnt he get paid way more for buma$$ Rodriguez than for Trout who outclassed him. Good money for underwhelming ppv numbers vs Martinez. Excellent offer for Canelo. Bob nor any legit promoter doesnt owe Cotto a ridiculous offer that will lose them many millions
