If Cotto was so.sought after, how come he didn't continue to be independent like Floyd? That's right because people wrote him off after the losses to Mayweather and Trout. TR made him hot, but Cotto knows the jig is up. He'll lose to Canelo or GGG...

Took Rocs money since they are desperate. Will fight lames until roc basically forces him to fight Canelo or GGG

Bingo. That's the way I see it as well. Cotto don't want a tough fight. Wanted to get paid a high price to fight bums.

You are being REALLY simplistic. CLEARLY something changed after this statement was made by Cotto. It's like thinking there is NO such thing as divorce because 2 people VOWED "forever...."

Again, you are being conveniently simplistic.

                Wow, is this Bob Arum?

I'll tell you what. Arum is great at building fighters. He built up De la Hoya, Mayweather, Cotto, and Pacquiao. They are all superstars now. The problem is, when they get to this level, this is when Arum usually ****s them. I feel bad for whoever the next superstar is in Top Rank. Right now, it looks like Tim Bradley. Maybe Terrance Crawford after that.

Come on dude Sergio probably had his promoter call Cotto's people up the Sundays after the Trout fight hoping he could use the loss against Cotto in the negociations. It's no secret that Sergio land other fighters calling Cotto out is why Cotto has managed to stay relevant because he comes with a big payday. Why because even with his four loses he still has a strong fan base.

He already got Bradley up in the next tier below Pac-Cotto-Floyd in terms of recognition, but Crawford has a following that is just impressive. He brings more fans to his events than almost any American boxer does. I think if he continues on the way he is going, he will be the next Mayweather type star in a couple of years.
