Its not about manipulating. They have to put on good fights. What dont you understand about the sport of boxing needing growth and popularity to secure its future? It needs young new stars to take up boxing.

I've always advocated for a league style format for boxing. It's working for UFC and the league format works for all other popular sports. This is all about a changing of the guard and right now the ABC orgs are fighting to remain relevant.

Now - after years of crap they want to work together after before having rules prohibiting unifications (yeah you WBC). People respond negatively to change - it's natural. PBC has an opportunity to inject new life into a sport for far too long clinging onto a bygone era of business. It's a history filled to the brim with corruption, back-door deals, slave contracts and misappropriation of the fighters.

I don't know if Haymon and his initiative will succeed - but they are certainly paving the way for meaningful change. If they can eliminate the WBA, WBO, WBC and IBF or even have them create a merge entity, then that will be a success.

i don't understand why anyone would want UFC/WWE corporation.. yes not state, national, international, not a WORLD sport but a company branded boxing championship that only Haymon signed boxers can fight for, basically dividing the sport from itself entirely

the only thing i want is exactly that, for them to merge after every division is unified with an established REAL champion in some sort of unification tournament(would probably take a couple of years), and then after that will just assume the name WBC, WBA or whichever they decide fits best for the one merged sanctioning body

I hope Haymon creates one centralized PBC belt and eliminated the need for sanctioning bodies. And people would **** on that as if the WBC is the savoir of boxing. Everybody loves belts, just not 4+ per class; However, most all would prefer the 4+ belts now, that are GLOBALLY ASSESSABLE, compared to this subway stable pimpin PBC bull**** belt I been hearing about.

Boxing is great because it is globally assessable. Boxers are mercenaries, not ****n hoes.
The dream of becoming CHAMPION is so beautiful because anyone can compete, in any country. The GOATs would have never been with this PBC setup, as it will just lock talent out globally.

I don't know why anyone would defend these sanctioning bodies. They are a big reason why boxing is in trouble. There is only one true world championship in each weight division. This is not represented by any belt but is actually a title like king of England, or chairman of the board, that is handed down from one man to another according to a clear and identifiable set of rules. You either are or you aren't. There is no 'shares' of it. There is no 'unifying' it. You have either won the right to be called champion or not. The belts are just minor prizes that can be won.
