The numbers weren't terrible and hopefully they get better but please stop trying to spin this when you drop that kind of money and it's on NBC you need higher then a 3. If this were HBO and they got those numbers it would be great. But HBO shows don't spend a fraction the costs Al just spent on production and promotion for this weekends card. You had tons a paid tv commercials, billboards, radio ads ect and to only get a 3 is not impressive. HBO is also subscription based and does not need the advertisers. Al spending all this money and aint getting high enough ratings to lure advertisers to recoup the money he is losing.

plus the matchups aren't very appealing for a lot of hardcore fans.
You're incompetent and not to be debated with. So **** off.

UFC on fox continually averages under 3m viewers but win the demo and Fox is ecstatic. Network tv isnt the same as premiuim tv.

Honestly, you guys dont really know what you're talking about.

Those are great numbers for a boxing telecast in the US, if they can sustain those and bring down the costs it can work.

But he really needs to take control of the market and finish choking out the competition before he'll be able to start bringing down fighter pay for good matchups like Saturdays.

There r sum critical fools on here. Peaking over 4 million is good especially since Broner vs Molina was rather boring.

i figure the garcia peterson and lee quillen will do better. Once haymon matches heavyweights those numbers will drastically go up.

i for one applaud the effort and am glad Im gna get hbo and showtime quality fights on network tv for the next couple yrs.

easy to criticize when u aint in those positions

you are the only one living in a fairy tale thinking this is the most amazing thing ever when really it isn't.

numbers are still mediocre, still getting mediocre match-ups, and the whole execution of the event is very mediocre.

The same people who think 3.4M average and 4.2M peak is bad are the same ones who cream themselves when Golovkin draws 800K for an afternoon HBO show. It's not hard to see the agenda.

there's a lot of delusional haymon lovers.

i expect the numbers to continue to drop since they almost always do after a debut.
