And if they stay at this level or go down he will not be able to sustain these kinds of loses.
Sometimes you gotta spend money to make money, he's going up against shows that already have guaranteed viewers, plus it's a Saturday at 8:00pm, that's a tough slot and they held their own.

For this to work you need big superstars that the casual fans know to fight on network channels. But you are not getting Floyd, Manny, Cotto, Canelo ect. Guys who have already headlined big pay per view fights. Instead you are getting good fighters who only hardcore boxing fans know and putting them in mismatched fights and thinking casual fans will just tune it. It hurt the show that 2 of the 3 televised shows were non competitive mismatches. And the opening bout with Broner was terrible. If you were a casual fan who tuned in because of the media blitz and saw Broner getting booed in a snoozefest you probably changed the channel and never came back. And are now less likely to tune in for the next show.

And another thing, why do people assume Haymon cares if he makes back is money? Obviously he will try to get the most back as possible, but it's pretty well know this 2 year stint is a try out for a big time deal, knida like teh ufc's 7 year 100m a year deal.
of course the head of NBC sports will lie and say he's happy and excited because they want so badly for this circus show to succeed since it's their reputation on the line. but in reality 3.4 average isn't very good.

haymon wants to succeed like everyone else. haymon wants things his way. failing is not having it his way.

            Yes!

Now people are worried about Haymon and his investors losing money, this isn't about maybe growing a great sport that been pretty much invisible in the mainstream the last 20 years outside of major fights.

This is a win win for the sport of boxing, even if this fails in 2 years and boxing isn't on network television for another 20 years something here was accomplished. If it wasn't for boxing on network television I'm not sure if I would have become the hardcore fans I've been all these years. I was lucky enough to be changing the channels and there were some live fights, I watched them and loved them. I've spent thousands closer to 10s of thousands over the years on boxing and it was all sparked because I was able to catch it for free on my own almost 20 years ago.

At worst if this fails it will still give the sport some serious exposure and bring in new fans, if this does work, it's going to be a game changer where boxing and boxers will become household names like they used to be in previous generations.

I can understand the promoter and network groupies parroting their favorite bloggers discontent and nitpicking at this but the bloggers need to understand that this is a chance for them to become relevant. Sure it's great having 20k twitter followers and having a cult repeat all the negative spiel that isn't associated with anything HBO/Arum, but they should see the big picture here and embrace the change instead of try to knock it down before it even gets going.

Why would they lie? They have no money on this?

Why is UFC on FOx succeeding? Because they win the demo. Boxing just killed it in the demo, with a bigger average audience then the UFC gets.

Like I already said. Most of you simply are clueless to wtf you are talking about.

It's a little early to call it. My biggest complaint is that the audio/video glitched a lot, & it didn't always seem like a foul-language censor was the cause. If he can clean up the production and deliver high-quality fights (what the hell was Molina doing?), Al may have a hit on his hands.
