What has he done to get to this position? he's had five bad loses in his career, and three of those came in a two year period. he's been on a winning streak, but most of those wins came against journeymen. and why was his fight with Samil Sam an eliminator? what has Sam done to earn that? i sometimes raise a few eyebrows when i speak very highly of Juan Carlos Gomez, but Gomez has beat Samil Sam, and knocked out David Defiagbon who Maskaev only beat by a decision. i mean the guy hasn't done anything really, to earn it, but thats heavyweight boxing i guess.

I find it funny how everyone bitches about "avenging losses".

Except none of that applies to Rahman. It's not like Oleg is not on a 10 fight win streak.

He worked his way up the ranks. He also did same thing that Rahman did by beating another ranked fighter, Barrett who of course idiots like DiegoFuego recognize as better than SSS.

Nor Wlad. He had his brother avenge his losses. Now that Vitali is retired maybe he will rematch the people that beat him .

How will he rematch Puritty? He's in a wheelchair.

Sanders is retired....what is he supposed to do? call him out of retirement so he can knock him out in the first round? what will that prove...nothing. Sanders is an old man.

I'm 100% sure he will rematch Brewster, and knock him out.

                  Oleg Maskaev ain't that bad

For me, Maskaev is a bit of a sentimental favorite, a guy who's been fighting for a long time and finally seems to be at his peak. Let's not forget that Jersey Joe Walcott didn't really reach his peak until he was around 37 years old, the same age as Maskaev is today.

Juan Carlos Gomez has already had an impressive career but he lost to Yanqui Diaz in August 2004 by 1st round knockout. Maybe that was a fluke, a 1-time bad night for Gomez, but Maskaev's done at least as well over the last 10 fights.

why do you all call him Oleg? so many of you call boxers by their first names like you know them. you only use first names to distinguish brothers or fighters with the same last name. you all don't know these guys.
