Cotto from the Pac fight complained about being weak from losing weight but then he insists that Martinez come in lower.

Canelo agrees to fight Floyd at a lower weight a couple years earlier and then says he has no problem going down in weight before the fight and then after the fight he complains but yet he puts Catch weights on some of his fights because he cant make 154 easily.

So the common theme is these guys agreeing and then complaining or complaining and doing the same thing themselves to other fighters. If all of them didn't say a thing, I would not have a big issue with Catch weights, it is the hypocrisy or agreeing and complaining that gets on my nerves. But yes, the best thing is to abolish Catch weights, like the points you made above. If a fighter demands a Catch weight, it a way of saying that that fighter has to have an unfair advantage and that is not a good look for the fighter. They should just stay in their divisions or not ask for a Catch weight.
Well, I cant argue when you put it that way.

The bold is a little laughable...... crazy really.

But, when boxing decided to allow/accept catchweights, it was always going to be manipulated and taken advantage of.

    This is gold.....

Also, Richard, I thought SUBZEROED made a good point about exhibition matches...... there is a place for them, there have been some great bouts between name fighters that were not meaningful/relevant at the time.

I did not miss it, because I made my decision AFTER the fact..... I considered all things, and I used the benefit of hindsight.

            Simple really.

I can understand why you're bored.
Of course, cause Im dealing with a hard of learning alt. Its like special ed here. Once again thick fcuk, contracts are not signed in hindsight

Once again thick fcuk, we are not discussing contracts, we are discussing achievements..... and achievements are most definitely rated/ranked using the benefit of hindsight.

I can see this..... on May 3rd, when you are crying, wailing, wondering what happened...... it will still not have occured to you that you may possibly have overrated Pac by over-stating his "achievements".

Listen ***wad, lets try something different, because common-sense aint gonna work with you..... so, how do you rate Mayweathers victory over (154lb champ) Hoya, compared to Pacquiaos victory over (145 zombie) Hoya ?

Yes, that is the truth. Boxers have this aura of being warriors and yet, some have no problem saying the equivalent of "please handicap yourself so that we can have a fair fight" which makes no sense at all, just because they want to claim another title in a division they are leery of due to size. So they try to even the odds with a ridiculous Catch weight.

Pac gets extra credit for the outrageous risk he took in jumping to 147 against a widely favored guy, after having a single fight at 135. I mean its record book stuff, going up to his 7th division, 10 above his starting. Thats all a big deal. Itd help if youd followed boxing at the time, but not necessary at all.

The "leap" from 135 to 147, has been made DOZENS of times.

Before JWW was included, it was the natural step up.

The fact remains, that version of Hoya would have been beaten by every top welter, and most likely by every top JWW..... so, no great achievement there.

Never done by a guy who won first title at fly. Only had a single fight at 135, was at 130 9 months prior. People thought Juan Diaz would be too much for the midget

Agree Oscar was not a formidable welter, but how was Pac to know hed show up at 145? If Dlh rehydrates properly, hell of a risky fight for the midget. Pac came in underdog, and made A side cherrypicker end his career on the stool. Great win, memorable
