We are not talking about contracts you a$$wipe shyte poster.

We are talking about giving credit when it is due.

First you tried to make out that Pac was a hero for simply agreeing to fight for the biggest payday available to him, which was the goal of every fighter around Hoya's weight class for a decade, you dumba55.

Now, you want to call that a great win, when Pac's own trainer admitted that they guy in the other corner had " no legs "..... he was " hesitant "..... and he looked " shot ".....

we get it, you just LUVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV you some Manny

    • The Hoya fight was a good win for Manny, and super-fun to watch.

      Nothing more.

      • Damn Canelo, now you're just begging for big paydays huh? Maybe next time you should exercise some patience instead of acting like the red-headed step child...

Correct it was meaningful, but the catchweight was completely unnecessary.

          The question was.....
"Give me one good reason/example, as to why a catchweight was necessary in a meaningful fight"

FACT: the catchweight was not necessary.

You are missing the point my friend.

IF a catchweight was necessary, then the fight could not have been meaningful.

Wer need to stop unnecessarily diluting the standards within boxing.
I see, you are basing the necessity of a catchweight on the outcome of the fight. I was basing it on the requestor's reasoning. Mayweather knew that Alvarez is so much naturally bigger and stronger than he is, one connected punch could have ended his evening. A full-strength Alvarez certainly would have had more of a puncher's chance.

I understand what you are saying about catchweights from a boxing purist's point of view: If one fighter needs the advantage of a catchweight, he shouldn't be facing his naturally larger opponent in the first place. Or the fight shouldn't bear much significance, because it is nothing more than a glorified exhibition. But sometimes, it's just fun to watch!

He was all about those deadlines though not realizing that Mayweather took over Cinco De Mayo until he retires. Nothing Canelo can do about it.

Rematch? Hell nah. He landed what? 12 punches?

Pac was not around Hoyas weightclass, **** for brains. Fighting a guy that much bigger is a significant health risk, his career could have ended right there on a bad knockout.

Both catchweights were unnecessary in my view. If you excuse one and condemn the other you are clearly being biased and hypocritical.
He did express a desire to be the first Puerto Rican to win championships in 4 divisions. Though he did not say why he had given up on the lower division, that is what he effectively did.
