Nope 2009 was when it would have been at its peak imo.

To boxing fans, it was much bigger 5 years ago. To the casuals and everyone else, they don't even realise or know that these fighters aren't what they were. They just see the names Mayweather and Pacquiao and thats good enough for them. Considering the lions share of the revenue for this fight will come from the casuals or people who never even watch boxing, i'd say it is bigger. From a pure boxing perspective, it's probably not even that relevant anymore and both are on the way out. Whatever happens, there will be an excuse on either side. 5 years ago there would have been no excuse for the side that loses. Still, i'm excited for it.

5 yrs ago would be the next double edged excuse for both Floyd and Pac fans.

If Floyd wins Pac fans would say 5 yrs ago Pac would have won

If Pac wins Floyd fans would say 5 yrs ago Floyd would have won

and "5 yrs ago" would generates tens hundred more threads and thousands upon thousands of post.

money generating clicks for BS for the next 5 yrs more LOL

Bull****, Mayweather/Pacquiao in 2010 was the fight's peak. Time has done nothing but chip away at it since.

What Schaefer forgot or don't understand is that more people are watching online for free than any other time in history.

Pac was a wrecking machine that FLoyd didnt want none of back then. He is fighting Floyds used goods now, so its not as worthwhile for Floyd, although honestly hed just love a win over Pac. Fighting people at their peaks has never been floyds selling point and thing hes famous for.

From a money generating standpoint, fight is bigger. from a quality standpoint, it isn't as both fighters are not physically where they were in 2009/10.
