Hopefully they learn from this mistake and they can grow with the next event.

That ****** Nick Cannon show was the lead in, in my market. A CSI Marathon would have been a way better lead in.

When you start in the hole you have to get out first.

The minus, you don't get the grimy corner talk from the trainers. They have the blow by blow guys give you a watered down version of what the trainer really said. I don't like that. I wanna hear the real deal. Trainers losing their mind ala Angel Garcia. We probably won't gear from him at all during Garcia's fight.

LOL no comment or thread about the DUD of a fight on HBO2 last night put on by Top Rank right? The most viewed boxing related television event in years but these non-boxing fans are network and promotion groupies. Whats wrong with boxing is that portion of idiot fans who would rather pledge the're collective allegiance to a network rather then to the pugilists who put their own lives on the line the moment they part the ropes. Last night was a massive achievement for boxing as a sport irregardless of who put it together, and if you cant see that then you my friend are a network groupie.
They hate anything associated with Mayweather, good or bad and, to them, Haymon is associated with Mayweather; anything he (Haymon)does will be criticize.

This is what killing the sport, the modern day racists; they can't support or love their fighters without hating on other race fighters.

It was the first card and these guys are not PPV fighters.

Fights of the caliber even of De La Hoya vs Forbes would do ridiculous numbers on NBC. These are guys on the come up as far as fame. Only 1 PPV between 4 fighters. It's okay numbers, I expected more though. If Thurman's next fight is on NBC again, it does better, now 3+ million fans know who he is.

The numbers were just as i predicted.
Haymon lacked any sort of star in this card and it showed, imo this viewership is gonna be the norm unless they get wilder in there and promote the crap out of him, i also think garcia has drawing potential if put in a compelling matchup.

Who else does haymon has? no one and thats the sad truth, to get ratings mma used to pull, he's gonna need to put cotto, canelo or something like that on tv.

The ratings don't really matter since it's a time buy, but im still trying to figure out what exactly is haymon's endgame.
I guess he is just giving it a shot at the expense of his investors, if he fails he can always go back to scamming showtime and hbo, after all he is the best at hoarding talent.

Maybe he can create a star or two, but with his habit of protecting fighters, i doubt it. People are not easily fooled. Cotto, Canelo, Pacquiao you name it they all fought tough guys to get credibility, none of them became a star by beating Gavin Rees.
And that's why boxing is in such a sad state, no one has credibility anymore because good matchups are the exception and not the rule.

ya and the way they are going about it they are trying to let people into these fighters lives and personalities which in turn will turn them into fans or haters (same thing in the end). For the initial show getting over a 3 is huge and it will only get better once the casuals start to get to know some these fighters
